This song is a remake of the original, but it serves the same purpose. The original artist wrote "I believe I can fly,' because he truly believed the idea of flying. He didn't think about the logical end result. “I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” ~ Henry David Thoreau This quote relates to "I believe I can Fly" because it has a common ground, as a challenge.

"It is remarkable how easily and insensibly we fall into a particular route and make a beaten track for ourselves" ~Henry David Thoreau. The Incredibles is a perfect example of nonconformity. After Mr. Incredible saved the suicidal mans life and is forced to go into hiding, he fights the social conformity and gets back into the superhero business. This fits perfectly into the example above. The incredible family were in the same groove over and over again after being forced into hiding, but when Mr. Incredible finds another superhero job, he goes against what is normal, and strays off the "Beaten Track"

This is the "Turtle Man", he was the star of a T.V. show on Animal Planet called, "Call of the Wildman". The Turtle Man helps wild animals if they're in trouble, or if someone needs him to get them out of there area. "To speak truly, few adult persons can see nature. Most persons do not see the sun. At least they have a very superficial seeing. The sun illuminates only the eye of the man, but shines into the eye and the heart of the child."~ Ralph Waldo Emerson. This quote fits with the Turtle Man, he truly loves nature and he appreciates nature. The Turtle Man understands what the animals feel like and he wants to help them. This quote explains why Turtle Man loves nature, he is one of the few people who truly sees the beauty in it.

Alaska the Last Frontier is a really good example of a Simplified Life. The whole point of the program is to show people what homesteaders have to go through. The cast of the show are all people who live off the land and have very limited resources, and cant get to society very easily. Alaska the Last Frontier, fits great with this quote. People think that it gets boring/lonely up in the mountains, but it is totally different. "I should think you would feel lonesome down there, and want to be nearer to folks, rainy and snowy days and nights especially.' I am tempted to reply to such -- This whole earth which we inhabit is but a point in space." ~ Henry David Thoreau

“Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson. The quote above is directly connected to "Man vs Wild". The quote is telling you to trust yourself, and that just rely on yourself in general, and thats what Bear Grills is doing in his show "Man vs Wild". I feel like there is nothing better than this example, for self relience.
