This article is not reliable because of many reasons one of them being that there is not author attached to any part of this article. Another reason why this article is not reliable is it mentions numbers and statistics taken from a survey but it doesn't state when the survey was taken or by whom this survey was ran by. another reason why this article is not reliable is that it seems very opinion based and not a lot of factual reasoning is shown.

This article talks about how batteries are holding back electric vehicles because long lasting batteries are super expensive causing the overall cost of the vehicle to go up or causing the quality of other parts of the vehicle to not be as nice in order to lower the price of the vehicle itself. The article also mentions how more powerful batteries take longer to charge which is a major turning away point for those who are interested in owning an electric vehicle.

This article talks about the impractically of electric cars like Tesla and Fords such as the time it takes to charge your car. Sometimes you have to wait an hour or two for your electric car to charge while still not having as high of a mile range on a full charge than a gas car does on a 5 min long fuel up for a full tank of gas. Also there is no where near as many charging stations then gas stations limiting where you can go with your electric car.

This article talks about the many challenges the automobile industry faces to meet president Biden's goal of half of all new cars sold by 2050 will be fully electric vehicles. It talks about how the combustion engine still has room for improvement and is nowhere close to being as efficient and reliable as it could be. It also talks about how many car companies are backed by the oil and gas industry which is obviously not happy that they are switching to electric vehicle research and production causing a lack of funding that is needed for the next steps in the science and research of electric vehicle production.

this article talks about how the switch to electric cars keeps us dependent on cars and not focused on new better forms of climate friendly transportation. It also states that it would be unsustainable to switch to electric cars because of the waste that would be produced to millions of gas and diesel powered vehicles that would sit and rot. mines would need built to harvest the lithium used for the batteries which means more pollution from mining equipment and higher cost.

This article talks about the actual process of mining the minerals needed for just 1 electric vehicle as well as talking about how the cold severely limits the range and performance of electric vehicles. Something that stood out to me in this article was that "a typical 1,000 pound EV battery, for instance, entails the mining and processing of 500,000 pounds of earth. Renewables require monstrous amounts of new mining". This is a very real thing and is terrible for the environment that people think electric vehicles are saving.

This article is not reliable in my opinion because it plays both sides of the argument listing the advantages and disadvantages of electric vehicles. But mainly why I think this article is not reliable is it doesn't pass the currency part of my C.R.A.P test the fact that it was written in 2019 which to me seems too old because electric vehicles are a relatively new concept and a lot has changed in the world of electric vehicles since this article was written.
