Another fun-filled day at camp! Today we explored the delicious world of dumplings!

We learned:

· 📖 The Origin of Dumplings (饺子起源) – The legend of how dumplings were first made to cure frostbitten ears! A heartwarming story that made everyone giggle.

· 👩‍🍳 Dumpling Making (包饺子) – Our little chefs got their hands floury and folded their very own dumplings! Some were perfect, some were creative – all were made with love! 🥟

The kids had a blast shaping, filling, and learning why dumplings are a must-have for Chinese New Year dinner.

Dear Parents,

Due to the Chinese New Year event happening at another venue as well, the crowd is larger than usual and teachers may not be able to answer phone calls promptly. We recommend picking up your child either at 2:00 or 3:30 PM. Please let us know which time works for you. Also, please allow at least 10 extra minutes to find parking as traffic will be heavy. Thank you for your cooperation!

Here's what we did today:

1. 📖 The Story of the Zodiac Animals (十二生肖 – shí'èr shēngxiào)

We learned the ancient legend of how the twelve animals were chosen for the Chinese zodiac — from the clever rat to the kind pig! The kids loved acting out the animals and remembering their order! 🐀🐂🐅🐇

2. 🧧 Making Horse Year Fortune Pouches (马年福包 – mǎ nián fú bāo)

Since this is the Year of the Horse, we crafted our very own horse-themed fortune pouches! Each child decorated their pouch with lucky symbols and took home a little blessing for the new year. 🐴✨

The children were so engaged and creative today. Another wonderful day of learning and fun!

Day 4 of our camp was all about the Lantern Festival (元宵节 – Yuánxiāo Jié)!

Here's what we did today:

1. 📖 The Story of Lantern Festival

We learned about the origins of this beautiful festival — from ancient times to how families celebrate the first full moon of the new year! 🌕

2. 🏮 Making Lanterns (做花灯 – zuò huā dēng)

Each child crafted their own colorful lantern to celebrate! Such creativity and festive spirit! 🎨✨

What a fantastic finale to our camp! Today we celebrated with a 新春游园会 (xīnchūn yóuyuán huì) – Chinese New Year Carnival!

Here's what we did:

1. 🎮 Fun & Games

We played lots of festive games and the kids had a blast running, laughing, and winning prizes!

2. 🍭 Sugar Painting (画糖画 – huà tánghuà)

Everyone got to try this sweet traditional art – painting with melted sugar! Such creativity and yummy treats! 🎨✨
