Introduction to Ibadah

Ibadah[Worship]- Khassah & Ammah

Worship is one of the purposes of the creation of humans and jinn {Surah Az-Zariyat : 56}. Working and studying are examples of general acts of worship that must be done with the intention for Allah. The concept of worship and the enjoyment of Islam is very broad, and it will come back to us. The more we worship, the more benefits Allah will give us.

Types of Ibadah

1) Prayer

Prayer is the pillar of Islam and is the first thing that will be accounted for on the Day of Resurrection. Prayer can prevent immorality and wrongdoings. It is also a form of exercise for Muslims and a way to maintain cleanliness. In prayer, there must be sincerity, fear (of Allah), and remembrance of Allah (zikrullah)

2) Fasting {Surah al-Baqarah : 183}

Fasting makes us more pious and keeps us away from sinful acts. Fasting also provides benefits for health, emotions, and self-discipline.

3) Zakah {Surah at-Taubah : 103}

the giver and the receiver.

Zakah aims to purify wealth because some wealth can become doubtful (syubhah). Zakah also helps eliminate greed and reduce the rate of sinful acts

4) Hajj {Surah al-Baqarah : 197}

Performing Hajj can increase a Muslim's piety because it is considered visiting the places of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The act of Hajj also makes a person more disciplined because it has many rituals. Hajj is performed by Muslims who are financially and physically capable.

In conclusion, every act of worship that Allah commands brings benefits to us both in this world and in the hereafter, because worship requires understanding and the intention to seek Allah's pleasure.
