It seems as it was fall because of the dead leaves on the ground and hunting season is in fall. The narrator noticed how Grant’s body was tangled and how he was knocked out of his boots. The narrator was one of the Riverpoint boys. Shep, Henry, John Michael, and Logan were also present. The characters were sad, shocked, scared, and felt paralyzed. The boys were thinking that if one of them goes down they all are going too. The information that was not in the text that we need to know is who used the Remington and who shot Grant. They have found that Grant was killed out of cold blood by one of his closest friends, John Michael Forres. They also found that John Michael had tried to frame Shep by telling Lindsey, the main witness, that he had heard and watched Grant ask his killer why he was pointing a gun at him right before he was shot. They found that Grant had ruined John Michael's house the night before at the party. Giving John Michael probable cause for killing Grant. They also found a wildlife camera hidden in a birdhouse close to the back patio. They looked at the footage taken by the camera and found video evidence of John Michael and his father paying Mr. Gaines a large sum of money believed to be bribing Mr. Gaines to keep him mouth closed for the millions of dollars Mr. Forres has charged the city for his construction project. The wildlife camera also had evidence the John Michael was the one to shoot and kill Grant Perkins. John Michael was shown on tape to come back to the house approximately six minutes after all the boys left the house and walked out of the house holding the gun that had killed Grant, The Remington.  Police had enough evidence to charge John Michael with the murder of Grant.
