I chose to use Canva because it is the tool I am most familiar with from the list. Canva has been the platform of a few projects I have implemented in my Spanish classes when I was in brick and mortar, but I have yet to use it in the cyber setting. One way I would love to implement infographs in the virtual world is by having students use them to discuss poverty and social issues in Spanish speaking countries. I find that students truly connect to the real-life application of infograph and poster making and love to learn about the human nature behind the Spanish language. It’s always a well deserved brain break to take a few “culture days” after a really tough unit.

I haven’t used Padlet for my classes yet but have browsed other teachers’ Padlets. Now that I have finally worked with the platform and created my own Padlet, I can say that I certainly LOVE it! There are a variety of different looks that the Padlet can have, and they each serve their purpose. I chose to do a timeline because I felt it best reflected the “growth” and the increasing higher order thinking skills that this course involved. I chose a background that somewhat aligned with my subject, Spanish, but the creativity is endless with the Padlet platform.

 

                I can see Padlet fitting in perfectly with the PBL curriculum I want to implement in my Spanish 2 class next year. Most students are somewhat familiar with Padlet because of many teachers already implementing it in their classrooms. My main idea would be for each student to create a Padlet portfolio, just as we did in this class. I would love to have my students add artifacts and projects to their Padlets as they move throughout the course. I know they would appreciate seeing their growth throughout the year, and that the Padlets would be a fabulous resource to put on display for our virtual gallery night.
