Global issues are isolation and discrimination between Jane and the Reed's. IB concepts are the perspectives in how Jane views culture, identity, and community differently than how the Reed family does. Literary Elements are imagery and simile. The Gothic Elements are the gloomy atmosphere, the red-room, and intense emotion. I picked Time and Space for Area of Exploration because she talks about how John Reed wanted to be called "Master Reed," when no one today says Master.
