Reading Log Entry (List three words from page 4 of your book that connect to what you believe is the theme of the book. Explain why you feel this way. )

1. accelerating
2. protecting
3. dangerous

Adianna Vida is "accelerating" through her life. She rushes while at home as well as when she's driving. She's busy trying to "protect" her sister, Sarah. The vampires were around and quite "dangerous." Adianna is on a search to help keep her family safe from all the mysterious vampires. I think the theme will have to do with Adianna's journey in helping and protecting her family.

I have been enjoying the book, although it seems to be a little confusing at times. The switching between vampires and normal people can be slightly difficult to keep track of. Overall the book is very interesting and I am enjoying it.

Reading Log Entry (Explain the tone of your book and add an image to help explain your opinion.)

The tone of the book is serious. Adia is going back and forth in wanting to help her family, but also wanting to protect her sister. The serious tone constantly has the reader on edge and waiting to see who Adia is going to help in the end.

Reading Log Entry (Explain the style of the book and add an image to help explain your opinion.)

The sentence structure is long and expanded when the characters such as Adia are relaxed. When they start talking about her sister, Sarah, she becomes tight and nervous. When this occurs the sentence structure becomes shorter and more fragmented. This can help the reader to connect with Adia through the story as were experiencing her feelings through sentence structure.

Reading Log Entry (Review the theme of Macbeth on the Gradesaver website. Which theme is also present in your IRB? Explain the connection.)

Just like "Macbeth", "All Just Glass" has a theme of ambition and temptation. Adia wants to be ambitious and follow her ancestors directions, but she has a big temptation of wanting to help and not hurt her sister. In "Macbeth" Macbeth at first doesn't have the ambition to kill Duncan, but Lady Macbeth has a big ambition to kill him. The temptation for Macbeth and Adia of having rain or victory is major, but they still don't know if there's enough temptation to kill.

Who is most like Macbeth in your book? Why?

Dominique Vida is the character I find most alike to Macbeth. Dominique is the mother of the story. Her daughters, Sarah and Adia, were her pride. Once Sarah was attacked and became a vampire, she directly the family to turn against her. In the text it states, "The notion of putting a blade between Sarah's ribs made Adia's stomach twist, but Dominique was right that they couldn't continue this way (Atwater- Rhodes 30). " In "Macbeth", Macbeth turns against Duncan. At first he acts like they're friends, but then he ends up killing him for power. Both Macbeth and Dominique want to kill for power over the family. They want to be in full control and with Duncan or Sarah alive they won't be in full power.

Final Entry/ A Book Review

The book "All Just Glass," written by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes could be described as interesting and slightly bizarre. The characters in the story are vampires and witches. Someone who is interested in vampires, witches, and drama would really enjoy this book. It is full of mystery and a world of imagination. One of the main reasons I would recommend this book is because it takes your mind on a trip to an imaginary world that seems totally real. Adia is one of the main witches and in a line she states, "When she had been in high school, she had complained about spending time doing "stupid human things" that had nothing to do with her real work"(Atwater-Rhodes 154). A normal everyday teenager would think the same thoughts as Adia was thinking, which makes the story seem normal until you realize she's a witch. The second reason for why I would recommend this book would be because it promotes the importance of family while displaying the ups and downs of family dynamics. Sarah, the sister of Adia, fell into a relationship with a vampire and soon became one herself. Adia and the rest of the family soon saw her as dead to them and went on a hunt to kill her. They tried several times and at one point Sarah tried turning herself into them. Adia finally realized that she needed her sister in her life. At the end, they were able to connect and rejoin as sisters, "Adia met the hug, and the two sisters embraced each other tightly. "I'm proud of you," Adia whispered"(Atwater-Rhodes 245). The fact that "All Just Glass" takes your mind to an imaginary place and shows the ups and downs of family interactions makes this book a pleasant read.
