Not a lot of new learning from Lucie. Repetitive. Personally, I felt the most valuable contributions came from James. 

Wednesday: Caitlin - good overview of the wellbeing programme and Te Reo Maori expectations. It's good to see that timeslot that we will all share to ensure consistency. 
Claire - SEN - Informative, nice to see the website looking really good and easy to find information. It was quite long and some things we didn't need to spend so long on, eg: discussion of what 'neurodiverse' meant when the definition was pretty much on that slide anyway. It's good when people have the opportunity to share their own experiences etc, that was interesting. We spoke about TAs, but how many people have TAs? Aren't they ORRs funded for that specific child? 
Knowing our learners -standard.

Thursday: Brooke Trenwith. We were in the first group, which started a bit late. I liked the task and felt it was valuable, but we didn't get time to finish it and discuss it properly. Good to see that we all added to a shared doc that we can refer to.

Friday: Nuts and Bolts. 
Fine. The behaviour thing went on a bit and was repetitive. Did not need to go through that consequences sheet for so long. We get it. Could that not have been shown on Assembly for the new people in their induction? Not going to lie, I was off task until Lucien popped up! 
Team meeting - could've been earlier in the week? 

Overall, pretty good. I am glad we have Tuesday to get stuff done. Thank you for trusting/respecting us to have that day. 

A lot of people have been asking me about English and I really wanted to do at least some PD this week. Especially people asking me where to start with a reading programme. 

Guys, what happened to the social thing? We could've had a fun activity on site that was low key and inexpensive. I feel it should be split into those who are new and those who have done extensive work on it already. Feel it could be a days worth with some practical activities with scenarios etc. 

Brooke was a bit of a letdown for me, unfortunately. I felt it was not long enough and we did not get to round it all off due to time. Felt like we worked individually and that Brooke didn't give too much input into our session. 

Feel like it would be beneficial to have a TOD on the first day or two so that we get our own admin and organisation out of the way and out of our heads. 

I would really love some PD in reading and feel this would be a good way to start the year of planning.

While I have enjoyed being back and connecting with my colleagues the sessions have felt a bit all over the place and bitsy. Like Tuesdays full on session of maths which I have heard twice already. I really only benefited from James' timetable and choice board and discussion on what to do outside of trios.  There was STILL no clarify on assessment.  Wednesday was great but at the same time I feel like it could have been combined with Friday's Nuts and Bolts session as there has been a lot of spare time - when we have nothing on Tuesday! Thursdays session with Brooke was short, normally I love Brooke's presentations, but as a person who never has had a cluster I would love to learn more about clusters, how they are formed, why we have them,  why I have the one I have, what should I do extra. The things we discussed I already sort of knew but and was so broad and non-specific. Team meetings, and planning time has been very beneficial.

I was really disappointed that there was no staff getting to know each other time. Every other  teacher friend I have and past schools i've been at have had a team building activity. This was even my feedback in the staff wellbeing survey. Most teams have a new team member! Every single team has changed. Yet there has been no getting to build friendships. Perhaps the 'nuts and bolts' could come first before external PD. Items such as Assembly and the behaviour management strategy should be optional for those who feel confident.

Lucie was amazing but some things were repetitive. Our team felt empowered and there was a positive vibe. We really appreciate having time to plan in a team. James' slides are hugely helpful. 

Caitlin was great. Short, concise and to the point. The SEN presesntation was a bit long- lots to absorb and process. But very informative.

Brooke Trenwith- I did not gain much from her session. We did not really leave with much. We came up with strategies ourselves.

Maybe think about easing into it with something more to do with school planning/ expectation/ etc. so everyone know from the start what is expected.  

However, the maths workshop was really good and it did help with the planning of the maths for term 1.

Brooke's session wasn't as great as some of her other sessions. I felt I didn't really take much away from it and that it was very repetitive. Her site is AWESOME though.

Caitlin's well-being program is amazing. I find her work easy to work through and to understand.
