I think in my generation, one of the commandments that gets violated the most is probably number 7. "Thou shall not use other people's computer resources without authorization or proper compensation."

I think the violations against commandment number seven occurs simply due to the lack of education. The reason I said number seven is because, I know that in my high school, unless you were in an AP English course, you were not properly taught to cite further than MLA. So while I do think this violation is the most common to happen, I also think it is not on purpose. Either one may not have been properly taught to cite in a certain format all together, or may have made a mistake in citing.

Simply put, I think there should be more effort put into educating students on how to cite in different formats and how to do so properly. If more people were taught to do so on their own (without using online resources to do it for them) there would be a decrease in the occurrence of this violation. I think using resources such as Purdue Owl is great, but sometimes even generater websites like those can make mistakes and get someone in trouble.
