I believe that the author portrays the mood in an interesting way on pg. 23 when the author uses a metaphor to portray the mood in the story , “ We believe in forever. We do, but our belief is thin. It’s a tightrope suspended above a deep, dark canyon. We stand on it and wobble. The minute someone shakes the rope we could fall into the dark abyss of fister care.” This was intresting to me because you usually do not use a metaphor to portray mood. I believe that this metaphor portrays fear in Flora and Julian’s because it is about leaving and randomly put into another foster family house. The brother and sister do not want to leave yet another wonderful house. Flora doesn’t want to move again. I can feel the mood inside my self, and it makes me feel sad and scared for Flora and Julian.
