S--What I see is…a picture of my mother and two of my daughters in front of the Bell of Friendship in San Pedro, California.  

H--What is happening is…we are visiting the Bell of Friendship, a gift given by the Republic of Korea to the United States in 1976 on the bicentennial of US Independence as a gesture of friendship between the United States and the Republic of Korea.

O--This relates to my life because…I am reminded how little I’ve learned about my Korean American Story and that has made it harder for me to know my own story of generational resilience. I just learned about this place in a workshop I attended in the summer of 2021.  

W--This is happening because I came here, wanting to thank my mother for her migration story to the United States and her resilience in coming to a new country and her courage to make a home.   

E--This can educate others by…understanding that many people have a migration story and to see it as a story of resilience.  

D--What we can do about this is...give others the opportunity to discover and share their migration and generational story with empathy and respect.

H-- What is happening is the beach has been roped off to prevent further injuries and conduct an investigation

O-- This relates to my life because this could have been me and my family. And it is no longer a space where we have much room to leisure

I care about our ecosystems. Particularly our changing, eroding coast line of Southern California. S--What I see is…a picture of the new stage and seating area in the Magnolia High School quad.

H--What is happening is…workers are attempting to inspect and finish the area while the site administrator is receiving an update.

O--This relates to my life because…I am reminded that while a school can exist for decades but it must continually be maintained, upgraded, and even changed to serve the needs of the students and community.  I need to have a growth mindset and be willing to change in order to stay relevant and useful to my colleagues. 

W--This is happening because I wanted to see how much had changed since the last time I was at Magnolia. Also, I wanted to see how the bond money the voters of Anaheim had provided was being used.

E--This can educate others by… showing how a vote they made years ago can have long-lasting effects for decades.  Voting truly matters.

D--What we can do about this is...share how all of our schools are benefiting from the bond measure passed by the citizens of Anaheim.  This bond measure signified a belief in our public schools and the importance of our students.
