An example of this would be voting for your governor. When you don’t vote in local elections you don’t really have a say in who your governor will be, one vote makes a huge difference.  Some challenges people face are not having the right identification which their states voting laws require. This makes it harder for people who don’t have identification to vote because most of the time they can’t afford it. This happened in a case called Shelby County v. Holder (2013).   Something that was not addressed in this week's work is where do you go to register to vote or pre-register. I feel like this would have been beneficial information for us because a lot of our students are 18 and have not registered to vote yet. Some are not sure where to go. - Monet j.

Fulfilling Obligation and responsibilities as citizens is important because it helps people get along with one another, prevent accidents, make sure resources are used fairly. If the people do not obey this; our government cannot maintain order, protect our health, safety, and property.

2. Create a logical argument using evidence from this week’s work that explains which obligation or responsibility you feel as a citizen is most important. 

Voting is a very important responsibility that I believe all citizens should take accountability for because every vote counts and if you don’t vote it only will hurt you and your community because it would give someone else the opportunity to take on that vote and help them with who they vote on. The more people that vote the higher chance you can get in the election. 
 
 
3. Based on the work from this week and your own understanding, what are the challenges people face when meeting this obligation or responsibility? Why?  

Some challenges that people face when meeting this challenge of voting is some people don’t agree with the candidates that are going for presidency. A lot of people believe that their vote doesn’t matter because both of the candidates are not good for our country and think it’s not worth it.  For example in the case of Shelby County v Holder (2013) . 

Something that should be obligation is pre-registering for voting at 16-17 . I that should be something that needs to be done so that things can be taken seriously .

3) Something that might challenge people in voting is that there's no where for them to vote around them and getting transportation might be difficult. Like in Texas where there really aren't trains or bus and people might need a car in order to vote somewhere that might be far, or maybe even in places with transportation like NYC the train or bus might be delayed because of all the people that'll need to go vote. Another challenge will be that the politicians don't meet the people's need since they might want one thing but the person believes that this person won't do that. An example could be how Trump pardoned war criminals who killed unarmed people in other country which doesn't exactly look good for someone who is president and is supposed to represent us. Also Biden when he used his own sons death as a political gain since it doesn't make him look good either because he isn't exactly saying issues he'll solve but rather using personal life issues for people to feel bad and vote for him. 

4) Responsibility that we didn't pass on is giving information to the future generation in order for them to know what they should do in the future. 1) As citizens fulfilling Obligations and Responsibilities is important because it is our duty as citizens to ensure that Constitution and the Bill of Rights are upheld. 
2 ) I feel that our responsibility to vote is the most important.  Voting allows us as citizens to have a voice in our government. As citizens we vote for our leaders to represent us in the government and represent our ideas. We should be aware our right when voting and inform ourselves on who we are voting for.
 3) Challenges people face when meeting this responsibility is the inconvenience of polls such as transportation and hours. A major problem is not finding a good candidate that represents their ideas/issues. Some states also require voter ID which can be difficult to get for some people to retrieve a the documents and some people have trouble with the  registration of voting.
4) An obligation that has not been brought up is the mandates due to Covid-19. Such as vaccination and mask mandates.     This is a responsibility because if you don't want to put your or everyone you love or the people around you sick with COVID 19 then you need to get vaccinated  because its also your health that you need to worry about.

    The responsibility that we do like getting our shot of school is the same way we should do for the COVID 19 vaccines and if we don't show this generation or the next generation that we don't know how to protect ourselves from diseases i think this is why all children and parents should be made aware what we do to protect everyone.

    2. The responsibility that i feel is most important is voting. Voting whether it's for a president election or community has a huge impact on the choice of who's going to be the leader. However, despite the impact your decision has, the majority of citizens don't vote due to valid reasons or excuses. Such as, some people don't vote because they feel like their vote won't do much against millions of other votes. Another excuse would be that they never care enough to fit voting in their schedule. Citizens who have valid reasons come from low income areas rather high income areas due to lack of transportation(they have to rely on public transportation), long lines at voting stations, fear of losing their job, have people to take care of, etc. Whereas the majority of people who live in high income areas have cars, don't fear losing their job, and they take about a few minutes to vote.
    3. An obligation that was not addressed this week was reporting foreign accounts. Foreign accounts include something called FATCA which is Foreign account tax accomplice which requires them to search their records. If a citizens combined holdings in foreign bank accounts that exceed $10,000 have to file a form called FBAR. FBAR is foreign bank account report.     2.) The most important responsibility of a citizen is probably voting, when you are of age of course. I say this because this is one of the responsibilities that is completely voluntary. People chose weather they will vote or not. Voting helps the citizens of the world feel like their vice matters. Earlier this week, we did a gallery walk on voting and the excuses people use to not vote. If we were to improve those reasons, everyone would be voluntary to vote. Another responsibility I believe is important is obeying laws. Laws are put in place to help keep communities safe for those who reside in it. Following laws is very important. 

    3.) There are many adversities and problems citizens face when trying to vote. In the gallery walk that we did, some of the reasons that people answered as reasoning for not voting was the long lines, problems registering, too busy on election day, out of town, no transportation, and didn't favor candidates.

They haven't explicitly stated that citizens NEED the vaccine, however, they make it almost impossible to do anything without it. The most important responsibility as a citizen is voting and interacting with the government because voting and interacting it helps the government and it also helps us as people, we get to have our voice heard and it shows that our government actually wants to show that this country is equal and its also free. In the gallery walk i've read some reasons why people couldn't vote and if we help those people it would be easier for everyone to vote for our government. 
    3. Some challenges people face when meeting this obligation or responsibility is not having easy access to vote and not having to wait for really long lines to vote. Not only that but some people don't have the availability to use transportation for many problems. For example financial problems. Yes the train or bus is "cheap" but not everyone has the money to spend for it. Another reason is people being out of town which is a reason why it may be harder for others to use transportation to get to one of the voting sites. 
    4. An obligation that hasn't been said in the week is the mandating of people getting vaccine shots. Some people are being forced because of cutting off the access of being able to go out with your family or loved one to a restaurant or a place people can enjoy time together they can't because "they aren't vaccinated". It's important because it's a problem people can go back and forth about.
