Messed up on the bottom, so attempted a flower pot with a bottom part, however should've attempted to keep that clay in the bottom and pulled it up through the piece.

I threw a total of 3 double bubbles, 2 regular and 1 creative, however I didn't know to take photos of the first two so they are currently loaded into the kiln. Once they are fired I will then take photos of them and upload them

This was my third double Bubble, which I attempted to make into a triceratops-beast thing and believe that for my first sculpture work that I did an alright job. However, I learned that I need to slip and score better as some of the added pieces began to almost fall off. I hollowed out the arms and legs as to make sure the piece wasn't too thick and I did the same to the horns.

My very first thrown piece, which cracked due to excess moisture. I learned that when taking it off the wheel, I have to do a better job of using my sponge to dry it out, so that this doesn't happen again. I spoke to Mr.Stout about creating a sort of tree thing with roots coming out, but I also learned that the paints/glaze wouldn't work well with a pot in this stage. Also, the crack shows that there was a decent uniform wall thickness and that pressure was constantly the same throughout.

More angles of the cracked piece - bottom view. It's likely that the most moisture was stored here because I had forgotten a key step, which is to take the wooden knife tool and create a undercut when taking the piece off the wheel.

Top view shows that I tried to do something creative with the lip, however the extremely large crack in the bottom means otherwise. Still, the base is decently flat and means that the opening/undercut stage went well.

First Fired Double Bubble Tool Holder

For my first Fired object, I'm proud it made it through the fire, but the bottom bubble sunk and dipped a little and the top bubble didn't protrude very much from the indent below it. Despite that, there was still a round lip and decent trim.

Second Fired Double Bubble Tool Holder

This double bubble improved upon the last one by creating equal sections of bubbles, while also having a much more defined top lip and a better trim. This was my first piece that I started glazing and is currently on the glaze shelf waiting to be high-fired.

Honey Mug

This mug resembles a honey pot, with honey dripping over the lip on one side and a suitably sized handle. It is a smaller mug, but one of three others all with different designs and additives. I made sure that the mugs I threw after this were larger and could hold more liquid.

Basic Bowl

Adding The Scar

In this section I cut a deep scar into the surface to give the mask a battered look, as if it has seen battle. I also added some texture work of holes along the bottom side. The left side of the mask started to tear in this section, so to give it a 'used' and 'worn' look, I got rid of it.

This shows the holes I poked to aerate the mask and make sure it survives the kiln. I have also added the holes into the side of the mask to hang this mask later on. To repair the bottom piece as it was cracking, I made a bridge with clay that I let harden.

In this photo I took that clay bridge and simplified it into a less blocky style as well as running a hole through the whole thing for air.

This image shows when the symbol was added, but before I dug the scar into it. This is also where I added a Ridgeline into the top of the mask with parts that came out to a point at the top.

This is the original design, with both side plates before the left one breaks. I learned in this step that I did not knock the corners down enough. I also began to mark the mask with future details such as the ridges at the top.

Symbol and Scar Added

This was after I added the symbol, but now I had cut the scar into it as well. I also put holes into the top behind the ridgeline to later add something like strings or feathers such as traditional spartan masks. This was also where I added the eyebrow lines to give the face more depth changes and breakup the top and bottom sections.

My flower pot, made for my mom, as her favorite color is blue. The photo makes it hard to see but it is a navy blue with black accents. Unfortunately it cracked in the glaze fire, but other than that it's fully functional.
