The Antagonist's in Mockingjay, in my opinion, are President Snow and President Coin. President Snow has been the main antagonist throughout the whole trilogy, but, in the last book you can kind of see a human side to him. President Coin, however, was just introduced in Mockingjay, yet you can tell that she, after President Snow is overthrown, will play an integral part in the story of the protagonists by making their lives more difficult, by not keeping the promises she made to people like Katniss, Gale, Finnick, Johanna, and Haymitch.

This book is set partially in the destroyed District 12, District 13, and other various Districts, throughout the books. There is also a large portion of the book that is set in the Capitol, where President Snow, and the people who enjoy the wealthier side of life, reside. In this book, Katniss discovers the forgotten, underground, supposed to be destroyed District 13. She wants to get her friends back, after they were taken from the 75th Annual Hunger Games. Katniss, Gale, Plutarch, and President Snow, among other people, take them from the Capitol. Following that event, they get everyone out. They also find out that Peeta has been brainwashed to make him hate Katniss, but that gets fixed, in the end. Then, they go back to the Capitol with one mission: make President Snow pay, which is what they end up doing.

The exposition is the beginning part of the story, where things are introduced. In the exposition of Mockingjay, Katniss has woken up in District 13 and is reunited with her friends and family. She also discovers that her hometown of District 12 has been burned to the ground, with all the people in it, including Gale's family. The only part that is not burned down is, of course, Victor's Village, where the Victor's of the Hunger Games, from District 12, live. This small list of people includes: Katniss, Haymitch, and Peeta.

Metaphor: "How else could I orient myself in this sea of gray" (Collins 3). Katniss is describing what she saw from her destroyed home.
Hyperbole: "Just when it seems we might have caught a break, there's a cracking sound, like an egg hitting the side of a bowl but magnified a thousand times" (Collins 342). This is hyperbole because there is an over exaggeration with "hitting the side of a bowl but magnified a thousand times."
Simile: "That last night...to tell you about that last night...well, first of all, you have to imagine how it felt in the arena. It was like being an insect trapped under a bowl filled with steaming air" (Collins 41). Peeta shares with all of Panem what it felt like to be in the arena of the third Quarter Quell. He compares himself and the other tributes to insects stuck in a bowl of steaming air.

My alternative ending to the series: Gale and Katniss remain in the Capitol, Katniss gets brainwashed, forgetting all about Peeta. Gale loves Katniss and Katniss tolerates Gale, and has no idea what love is. She describes her one true love as Gale because she does not know anything different. Gale and Katniss become the leaders of all 13 Districts, they rebuilt, with the help of Plutarch Heavensbee, Haymitch, and Effie. Primrose lives in District 12 helping to restore the coal mines that were once there. Peeta followed a different path. He became Panem's biggest supporter of the Hunger Games, even though he was put through hell and back during the Games. Katniss no longer tolerated the Games and threw the idea of that ever happening again away. Peeta, wanting to keep the Games, created his own Empire called Menap. Menap is a terrible empire with a high violence and gang rate.

Three questions I would ask my book:

1. Why don't Katniss and Gale end up together?
I believe that this is because Katniss and Gale are too similar and the author, Suzanne Collins wants give the readers what they want, with Katniss and Peeta.
2. What is the meaning behind the three-finger symbol?
When Katniss was in the 74th Annual Hunger Games, she met Rue. Rue was killed. Katniss wanted to make sure that Rue's death was not in vain, which some may argue was her motivation throughout all of the books. The three-finger symbol is a sign of resistance. President Snow orders the peacemakers to publicly humiliate (kill) anyone who does that symbol.
3. What is President Snow's motivation behind brainwashing Peeta?
His motivation is to distract Katniss and make her go to the Capitol, so that the same thing can happen to her.

Top three songs for a Katniss:
1. Heavy by Linking Park ft. Kiiara (https://youtu.be/nJKJyKs53Js)
- I picked this song because Katniss questions what she is doing and this song just really questions everything.
2. Sign of the Times by Harry Styles (https://youtu.be/fc1xsOr9Zek)
- I picked this song because it is a song about warning people what is to come, even though they might not know it yet. Katniss needs to be warned, so I put this in her playlist because it's a sad song and Katniss is a sad person.
3. Too Good at Goodbyes by Sam Smith (https://youtu.be/6-lostV6sk8)
- I picked this song because it is another sad song and Katniss had to say goodbye to a lot of people in this book, so I think it relates to her.

What color will your hair be next?
-Caesar's hair is always a different color.
3. What made in the star-crossed lovers from District 12?
-He has never doubted them, unless told to by his boss, President Snow, who could kill him with the snap of his fingers.
4. What were they doing to Peeta?
-I have always wondered why he was getting so thin and always looked beat up.
5. Why believe President Snow?
-I have always believed that President Snow was a man who deserved everything that was coming for him, so I wondered why the people who stuck by him did exactly that.

I believe this because when the foreigners, or the people from District 13 come in he hides and tries to let other people deal with them, until Katniss comes in the picture and kills him.

A zinger in this book is literally almost anything Haymitch says. Haymitch has such a good sense of humor. It is hilarious. Like this one: "I'm trying to figure out what to do with you," he says. "How we're going to present you. Are you going to be charming? Aloof? Fierce? So far, you're shining like a star. You volunteered to save your sister. Cinna made you look unforgettable. You've got the top training score. People are intrigued, but no one knows who you are. The impression you make tomorrow will decide exactly what I can get you in terms of sponsors," says Haymitch (Collins 14).
