In fact, there are 331 out of 535 that fit these groups. This gives reason to say that Congress is not representative compared to the nation as a whole, because there are just not a lot of people in office that are a minority compared to those who are straight, white, and male. I think that it is very important to have a good variety of people with different perspectives in congress, and that it is important for Congress to be diverse.
