I believe that without a united identity or common cause/cooperation established between the two major parties, progress is going to be hard. Esp when basic social or environmental issues are exploited by politicians as political or ideological issues, it is hard for there to be solidarity on the ground. This can be seen in the response by republicans towards vaccinations and lockdown. Yet, in a lot of these countries where public transport is more of the norm, one might ask if it is possible for the governments to afford such electric vehicles in their public transport.
