First, celebrate the success at midterms of the 2 Cs. Check out what is going well in those 2 classes, how they might be studying or spending their time for those 2 classes. See what is salvageable of the class with the F (if it is). If not, mention the Withdraw policy. Discuss additional supports that are available through SASS or Academic Life. Have student reach out to professors and have a one-on-one meeting with the professor to get additional supports. Ensure that the student is actually attending classes!!! With student permission, speak with parents to get insight of what has worked or good habits that have been helpful in the past.

First, figure out why they have an F in the class and determine whether it is feasible to improve the grade. If not, the student may consider withdrawing from the class. Next, identify strengths that have worked for the student in the classes where they have Cs and see if they can apply them to the classes with the lower grades. Then connect students with supports such as the Writing Center, STEM, Departmental Tutoring...etc

Speak with the student to see where the grade is stemming from. Missing work or feeling overwhelmed with assignments. Can you make up? Look at time management to help. Have AC and Dean work closely together and figure out resources to help. Check syllabus and see what midterm grade is represented. What is coming up (paper/tests)? Are they using resources and what haven't they tapped yet that can help? Can they use P/Dx/F policy? Leave of absence? What is the next thing to do? Best options to use with grading policy. Speaking with the professor with what the professor is seeing from the student and recommends for student.

- Consult with professors about student's deficits
- view grades and assignment for each class with student on BB - click on the professor's comment bubbles!
- If there is a pattern of lost points shown in BB, discuss strategies to address them. For example, low quiz grades = quiz lit, study guide, study group
- reviewing accommodations: what accommodations they are using vs what accommodations they have
- what campus and SASS resources are available
-Have them reach out to prof to schedule a meeting/office hours to go over grades/assignments. If meeting in person it too overwhelming, craft an email with the student to the professor
- discuss withdraw and pass/fail options
