This piece seems to be more naturalistic, the material appears smooth and to be made of some sort of stone there are also defining features that differentiate the two figurines as male and female.

Side profile with a dark contrasted eye and eyebrow against the light material it was carved into. The textured hair appears patterned almost like braids. Both figures are decorated in accessories.

The blue and the orange in the piece compliment and balance each other out. The focal point is the bull, the bull appears more naturalistic where the humans appear a little more abstract.

Also has a wet look, I would say this also a female. The wings are textured and the flow of the "wet" dress makes the sculpture appear as if it were going to take off.

Vibrant and rich colors, the background is very symmetrical and pulls our focus to the center which has a pedestal with maybe food? possibly and offering.

A woman, possibly of higher stature because of the rich color of her robes and all the jewelry she is wearing. The texturing in her hair also leads me to think that her hair may have been fairly curlly.

This appears to me as a family portrait. I think the family is wealthier due to the warm colors and the accessories that they are wearing. The missing face makes me think that maybe the family disowned one of their children, maybe a son?

The patterns help frame the piece and draw our attention to the man in the center who appears to have fish and bread, which reminds me of the story where Jesus fed the 5,000 with only a few loaves of bread and fish.

This piece is very rich in color as well as focused on facial anatomy. The circles around their head signify divine importance of some sorts especially the woman and the baby who sit on the throne.

A very astonishing piece with very intricate details. It reminds me of a buckle or something used to secure clothing together. The three knob-like circles are also visual pleasing.

Fairly symmetrical in design. Due to the style I would think it was a cover for a book and with the cross on it, it makes me think that this is most likely a cover of an important Christian book or literature.

Although faded you can tell this piece was one very colorful. The two rainbow-like bands draw my attention to the man in the center. The man also has a circle or halo around his head which signifies he is a higher being than the other figures around him, I would say that the man in the middle is possibly Jesus and then his apostles/followers surrounding him.

Very similar on both sides, there are a lot of arches, but only one circle which is the window. Based on it's architecture I would say this is a place of worship.

Lots of reds and blues within the piece, almost has a registers appearance where there are rows that tell different stories. This is most likely in a place of worship seeing the the biggest person on the piece has a circle or halo of sorts.

Very symmetrical, there is a focus on the center where the red carpet leads to. Most likely a place of worship.

Lots of red, green, blue and yellow. It appears that a man of importance died seeing that all the others are looking at him. The little winged children appear as angels and look to be mourning the death of the man along side the people. My guess is this is depicted Christ's death.

Formal analysis: Two figures sit together playing a game or possibly planning a battle strategy. The figures are in a composite pose and there are meticulous details on the top, base and the handles of the vase.

Notes: This pot is an Amphora which are usually used as storage or as grave markers. On the Amphora Achilles and Ajax are depicted. It would appear that they are possibly taking a break from battle and playing a game. It only has one emphatic zone and it was created by Exekias who was famous for black figure technique. This Amphora was found in an entruscan tomb.

Formal Analysis: Three figures are depicted. They have thicker bodies and all three have beards. It would appear that they are dancing possibly celebrating something of significance. It would also appear that they are possibly drinking since one of the figures is holding a krater.

Notes: The three figures show different poses. They have very thick thighs and composite poses for the heads.

Formal Analysis: The boy depicted seems young, the pose is not super stiff and there is more separation of appendages from the body, The hair appears very neat and textured and there is still a hint of an archaic smile.

Notes: The anatomy is more naturalistic as well as the pose. The hair is shorter. There is slight twisting and turning of his head and he is in a contrapasso pose. You can also see the shifting of weight. These statues were thought to be an offering of sorts.
