I do gymnastics training on wednesday evening at Carterton gymnastics club. Over the summer i competed in the club championships which required a lot of hard training but it was definitely worth it in the end as i won bronze on vault and silver on floor. Also i help coach gymnastics at a club within school and after school for 3 hours on a monday. During these coaching sessions i am being assessed so i can take my coaching course in the summer, this will mean i can volunteer at a greater range of gymnastics clubs.

On saturday mornings i recently just started trampolining where the coach would like me to train and compete with the squad. I am now doing 4 hours of training on a saturday with the regional squad at higher energy trampoline club, i really enjoy doing this as i also help to coach a session which is great experience.

Nicaragua expedition

In the summer of 2014 i am going on an expedition to Nicaragua for a month. During this month we are going to be working in a school, doing 2 homestays with families where we will do farm work but also get involved in their day to day life with things such as the cooking. Also we will do a trek up volcanoes on a volcanic island as well as doing a trek through the jungle later on in the expedition. Over the summer i fundraised for the expedition by working extra shifts at work and doing car boots as well as coming into school to run the car parking on the field. As a team we are organising a race night for October 5th 2013 so recently i have taken a role on the advertising team and have been busy preparing posters, letters and the tickets.

The race night was a big sucess and we raised nearly £700 from it! On the night i was involved in the betting system, sorting out the bets and winnnings which kept me very busy!

More recently i have been the team leader for a sixth form pyjama day which was also very successful and we raised about £250. We have presented assemblies about the expedition and the fundraising we are doing.

I am very close to raising the full payment for the expedition now which is very exciting as it is starting to seem very real! About a week ago we met Gale who is from outlook expeditions, she will be coming with us on the expedition as our leader. We all got on very well and cant wait to go on our training weekend at the end of this month so we can get to know each other a lot better!

Club Correze,France: Work experience in leadership of activities and teaching on an

outdoor activity center. I would love the opportuity to do this sort of work during

summers in the future.

Career

I have a very keen interest in both sport and science and so would love to

persue a career that looks at both of these subjects whether its sports science or

sports therapy. I am also wanting to look into other careers that i am not

currently considering that still involve sport and science such as chemistry. I

would really like to go to university to study further in the subjects i love best.
