Paige Paprocki
1. "Ma knows everything except the things she doesn't remember right..."(Donoghue 9).
2. Kristen Stewart reminds me of the mom in Room. Ma is determined and always seems to have an answer. I feel that Kristen would play the role in the movie, because it reminds me of her role in the movie Speak. In Speak she had to overcome a difficult time and prove that she was strong. In room, Ma has to face being trapped and the struggle that comes with escaping. Then, Ma has to show how she can overcome all of this and show that she is strong for herself and for her son, Jack.

Sometimes we need to erase them, erase our senses. Then - maybe - the earth will touch us. The universe will speak. The stars will whisper.”" (Spinelli, 97)

2.) For the role of Stargirl I would cast Cara Delevinge because she has been casted in a lot of John Green book based movies, and Stargirl specifically reminds me a lot of John Green's writing style. I think that she would be able to Stargirl/Susan really well. For the role of Stargirl the actress as her needs to be able to act quirky, yet intelligent and I think that Cara would do a really good job of that.

I was appalled to see how wrinkled and used-up I looked" (Plath 18).

2. I chose Liu Yifei to play Esther Greenwood, the main character of The Bell Jar. Esther never wrote about what she looked like, except for saying that she was getting fat, and the quote above. Also, she always wore lipstick. Liu Yifei is a Chinese actress who will be in Mulan. Esther Greenwood is an incredibly dark character, and she would need a strong woman to portray her accurately.

I think she would be a good role for this part, because in the movies I have seen her in, she is very good at taking on dark and serious roles. I think she would be a really good choice to show how Rachel is a mess and hopeless throughout the book.

For one, he's at the point, age-wise, where he's still young but is showing signs of aging. His hair is still dark, but with wisps of grey and white in it. Langdon himself is still young at heart, but is contained within an aged and weary vessel. Secondly, I would be able to believe Ruffalo in a more intelligent role, because Langdon is a brilliant religious iconologist and symbologist, and is great at logical thinking and problem-solving.

Maddie Jaco
1)
" 'You love him, don't you?' She asked. Without thinking I nodded. After a few seconds I realized what I had admitted and I glanced up sharply" (Taylor).
2)
I would cast Rachel McAdams to play the part of August, a girl who is too scared to admit her feelings for her best friend. Just friends reminded me of a Nicholas Sparks movie, which is why I chose this actress, because she is in the Notebook.

Emily Haar

"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

If I were to recast Gandalf, I would probably choose Morgan Freeman. Gandalf is a very powerful wizard, and he sometimes uses his magic to protect the people that he cares about. He is almost always quick on his feet to provide a solution to problems that arise. The group also tends to feel lost when they are apart from Gandalf, and have no trouble voicing it to the others. They say things along the lines of "I wish Gandalf was here" and "If Gandalf was here, he would know what to do."

Evelyn Clayton

"Professor Snape was sitting in a low armchair, and he looked around as the class filed in. His eyes were glittering and there was a nasty sneer playing around his mouth."

I would choose Johnny Depp to be casted as Professor Snape. Snape has a very dark, mysterious demeanor. He is known by students to be extremely harsh and critical when it comes to teaching, especially towards Harry Potter. Even though this true, later on the books reveal that Snape was always looking out for Harry from afar which added complexity to his character. Johnny Depp has this same dark essence around him, and I believe with his strong acting skills Johnny would be able to portray the attitude and mysterious demeanor of Snape very well.
