  • Robert Browning is regarded as one of the most famous Victorian poets, his great career started at a very young age. 
  • His father inspired him to write, through his love for stories, art, and learning. 
  • He spent all his time in his fathers library and it led toHim writing his first poem at the age of twelve, and shortly after devoted his entire life to writing.

  • He married Elizabeth Barrett on September 12 1846.  
  • Elizabeth was also a poet, she met Robert after they had been praising each others works through letters.
  • They later had a son together and ironically nicknamed him Pen.
  • Robert went back to writing later in life after Elizabeth died

  • A couple of Browning famous works had an big impact on his life.
  • His first poem written at twelve was Incondita, which was never published.
  • In 1833 Browning published his first major work Pauline.
  • After the birth of his son Pen,  Elizabeth inspired him to write Men and Women which was dedicated to her.
  • In 1861 Elizabeth died and Robert wrote his most renowned work The Ring and The Book.
