When reading with students we are now showing them the words that they are being exposed to. When possible students should have their own copy or it should be projected so all students can see the book. This will enable the students to see words they may not have known and to begin banking more sight words. This will also help to increase their vocabulary as they read the book. If having students read aloud as well they are now being introduced to how the word feels being pronounced which helps them to recall in the future.

By having this time students are learning collaboration as well as the thought processes of other individuals in their class.
