We don't know what is driving them away. Often times we consider this laziness or truant behavior, but I am deeply concerned that the issues could be something much more severe. As far as instruction, one of the best things about it is that students can engage the learning material when they are ready, at times when they can learn best. I think We need more engagement from parents and family members to keep them aimed in the right direction. I'm concerned about the dip in activeness amongst students.
