Living without fear of being shot when you walk out the front door, being able to voice your opinion (right or wrong with charitable discussion) but without fear of violent opposition. Knowledge that the common people can band together to make waves and right wrongs where needs be or compromise can be made to support all those different views. The people have a say.
However, the last couple of years has not felt like we are living in a democracy. It has felt more like a Dictatorship.

However, the way our country and most of the world is looking now is scarily becoming or has already become a false democratic system in which it seems like there are still some freedoms at the cost of others.
