When being able to confront people about racism they don’t even recognise the issue and are in believe of facist views. This makes it very difficult to make a change for the better. In reality there’s also often the problem that higher ups don’t recognise racism or openly choose to look away from it to keep a better imagine. This often happens with the police, such situations are very problematic for people of different ethnicities. There have been a lot of cases like this in Germany, also a big one here in Essen too. -chaymae

While I do somehow understand the discomfort rapid change and an increase of cultural diversity can be for some people because they feel like they lose familiarity in their own country which they call home, I can not fathom as to why people are automatically threatened by change. The existence of other cultures, other languages and norms that come with it do not take away from their own national British identity. I would say sometimes it’s even the opposite, because meeting other ethnicities is a chance for one to embrace their own, teach people about it and be tolerant. Respect is a two way street and the only way to live together peacefully in a multicultural society is through getting people to recognise and tolerate each other. -chaymae

On 1 hand, discrimination or prejudice based solely on one's ethnicity/origin is undoubtedly wrong however despite this, the cause of it is clear and can be controlled to some extent. To keep it short, children of every ethnic group should be taught to accept people of different skin colour/origin but also, the government needs to limit immigration and not simply allow large numbers of immigrants to enter every year. Many people say racist things and end it with “just kidding” so that one cannot blame them for being racist.
This shows that even though they know/ they were taught that racism is a bad thing, they still don’t comprehend it honestly.
