         <description><![CDATA[<div>Its Rachel's eleventh birthday that drives her to feel the way she does, and the way she thinks and acts. In paragraph one it states "What they don’t understand about birthdays and what they never tell you is that when you’re eleven, you’re also ten, and nine, and eight, and seven, and six, and five, and four, and three, and two, and one. And when you wake up on your eleventh birthday you expect to feel eleven, but you don’t. You open your eyes and everything’s just like yesterday, only it’s today. And you don’t feel eleven at all. You feel like you’re still ten. And you are—underneath the year that makes you eleven. " She explains that even though you're older you still have those experiences from when she was younger. She wants to be more mature because she believes that being older also means being right, or convincing other people that you're right.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The details in the story revel that Rachel attends school and experiences all of this in her teachers room Mrs. Prince. In paragraph 9, it states "Mrs. Price takes the sweater and puts it right on my desk, but when I open my mouth nothing comes out." This short segment shows that there in a classroom, because Mrs. Price puts the red sweater on Rachel's desk. Another detail that shows Rachel's in school is in paragraph 13, "In my head I’m thinking how long till lunchtime, how long till I can take the red sweater and throw it over the schoolyard fence," Rachel specifically points out details at her school, such as the schoolyard and her talking about lunchtime. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The setting is in a classroom and that affects us, readers because we would all relate to how she would feel, because no one wants to be called out in front of the whole class and have to be forced to wear something that isn't ours. Showed in paragraph 10, she says “That’s not, I don’t, you’re not...Not mine.” I finally say in a little voice that was maybe me when I was four. “Of course it’s yours,” Mrs. Price says. “I remember you wearing it once.” Also in paragraph 14, “Rachel,” Mrs. Price says. She says it like she’s getting mad. “You put that sweater on right now and no more nonsense.”&nbsp; “But it’s not –“ &nbsp;“Now!” Mrs. Price says"&nbsp;I would say that no one would want to feel the way she did in that event, it's not a good feeling. <br><br>

         <title>STR 3.B: How does the particular sequence of events and the manner in which a text presents those events to a reader affect a reader&#39;s experience with the text?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The experience is amplified by the fact that the narrator keeps reciting the age they are and the way they feel when some emotions or feelings come up Like in paragraph 19 there is mention of two characters who you wouldnt even know existed if it wasnt put in that order and the ammount of emotions that the narrator experienced in paragraph 18 wouldnt make any sense because its her birthday and she is crying her eyes out like she is three. If we were given the evidence in paragraph 17 too early we wouldnt get to understand the true feeling and ammount of her emotions to putting the sweater because before that she was singled out by the teacher and the rest of her class but if we didnt get any of that we would just think its not as bad as it is because she just had to wear a sweater she didnt like and wasnt hers for a while.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The story is narrated by Rachel herself, it's tell us what she's thinking about in her head. In paragraph 13, it states "But when the sick feeling goes away and I open my eyes, the red sweater’s still sitting there like a big red mountain. I move the red sweater to the corner of my desk with my ruler. I move my pencil and books and eraser as far from it as possible. I even move my chair a little to the right. Not mine, not mine, not mine. In my head.." In those couple sentences she is explaining what she's seeing from her perspective and how she's feeling in those current events.</div>]]></description>

         <title>NAR 4.B: How does the narrator&#39;s distance from the events of a narrative affect the details and information presented to the reader? </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This story and the distance from a narritive create a very emotional peace and it gives us a lot more to relate to in a story because at one point or another weve all had a bad day in class maybe not this bad but at some point in all of our lives weve had to deal with being singled out by our teacher or by our class mates so the distance gives us a more in depth feeling  for the story and the emotions and feelings of the narrator It also gives us a very good uderstanding for how the narrator experiences the things that happen to and around her she gets a pretty tough day and worse on her birthday so we get a very personal relationship with this character because of the horrible things that happen around her.</div>]]></description>
