It will bode digital citizenship, and I think for literary studies (like the lord of the flies discussion) it could be very useful. Very interesting video.

Jesse

Paulo Freire is one of North America’s most influential education philosophers of our time. Freire talks about the affordances of technology to emancipate and liberate students, nurturing 21st century skills of research, problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration to construct and reconstruct knowledge and understandings, from a self-directed approach. This goes to address social justice and access to education. E-learning, and in particular M-learning, allows students to be anywhere around the world and access valuable information. M-learning is more flexible in that it is spontaneous and accessible 24/7. I think the biggest limitation would be access to the technological devices themselves, and internet, of course. Introducing technology at a young age for students as an educational tool nurtures life-long learners.
