Women make up an increasing share of enrolled students (over 50%) and advanced degree holders (over 50% with master's and doctoral degrees) in higher education institutions (HEIs), yet remain underrepresented in higher-level higher education leadership positions (ACE, 2025; Snyder & Dillow, 2024; Wolfinger, 2008). Although trends indicate an increase in women holding leadership roles, they continue to earn less than men and thus experience diminished returns on financial investment, personal effort, and professional experience (Hannum et al., 2015). The purpose of this research study is to investigate exemplars of leadership development experiences and support structures available to women occupying "third space" roles across various types of HEIs (public, private, and community colleges). These roles, which exist between academic faculty and professional services, provide support across departments, units, and organizations within HEIs (Denney, 2023; Whitchurch, 2009). Women in these "third space" roles are often centered on academic or co-curricular development, blended learning environments, or community and public engagement, and navigate an organizational structure that is not easily defined while also possessing high qualifications and experience (Whitchurch & Healy, 2024). This study aims to identify exemplars of supportive and nonsupportive organizational structures and examine how these structures affect women's leadership advancement within their institutions. The ultimate goal is to develop a comprehensive framework for institutional leadership in higher education that establishes structured leadership development pathways, enhances institutional accountability in addressing women's concerns, and redefines how invisible care work in leadership positions is valued and distributed. This research addresses the persistent gap between women's representation in higher education attainment and their underrepresentation in upper-level leadership positions, while responding to the inconsistent and often inadequate leadership development opportunities that leave women without sustained support throughout their career trajectories.

Within the robotics competition space, middle school and high school students often build teams to compete in an array of challenges to test their skills and team cohesion. Interestingly, as teams are developed, the understanding of what makes a good team in the robotics competition space is not understood from the perspectives of the students, as opposed to a teacher or mentor. My research looks at just-in-time teaching as a form of peer assessment coupled with film review as a medium for student reflection, to better assess what makes a great team win robotics competitions.

Urban geomorphology is the study of changes in urban landscapes and their impacts on natural resources. Humans play a significant role in altering urban environments through activities such as construction, land development, and infrastructure expansion. One of the major issues facing urban areas today is rapid urban growth driven by migration from rural regions to cities. As cities expand, they increasingly modify the land surface and affect the natural environment.

Our research focuses on analyzing these landscape changes over time by using historical aerial imagery to develop Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) from different years. By comparing these models, we can quantify changes in surface elevation and better understand how urban development has transformed the landscape through time.

By identifying these approaches that foster public acceptance and willingness to coexist with these species, my work aims to contribute to long-term recovery of these species.
