Every year at Christmas we obviously open gifts and have dinner but we always also have my great uncle come over and read a book as well as just playing what ever games we got from Christmas. We also celebrate new years but we don’t really do much.

I eat ham on Christmas. I also open presents and look in stockings. We sometimes do secret Santa and give anonymous gifts around the family. We get my dog gifts and go sledding and drink hot cocoa that’s it.

I usually do the normal traditions, opening presents, decorating a tree, watching a movie with my family. I don’t like Christmas though so I usually try to sleep through it every year. -Alina

Before I dropped liquid metal on my arm we did this tradition where we drop melted aluminum into water and what ever it resembles the most that your years fortune. One day it bounced off the water and landed on my elbow. I still have the scar.

In December 7 we go to a friends house and we eat traditional food from my country and we and we light a candle and each candle that we light we have to do a wish or something we want. Also in New Year we eat 12 grapes and each grapes we make a wish or say something that we wish to have or do. And we drink wine.

Some traditions that my family does during the Christmas season are. One, we always call up my grandfather Martin on the shortest day of the year. Two, we always watch “It’s A Wonderfull Life” on December 23rd. Three, we always open up a present of our choice on Christmas Eve night. Four, on Christmas morning my dad wakes me and McKenna up and tells us when to come downstairs so he can take a video of us.

Five, we always give my dad slippers for Christmas.

I usually sped the 24th of December with my mom and brother. We have a few german traditions and we call my grandparents and my uncle. Also that night we have Christmas in the afternoon and open presents then the next morning we will go to my dads house and we usually go skiing then in the afternoon we have a big dinner. On my dads side we have this tradition that we have presents for each other and we give them out. Then the next morning we open the presents.

We all get ready for our big family dinner, we combine at least 5/6 families. Also, we open presents at midnight on the 24th not in the morning of the 25th as we do here in the States. Back in Chile, we are in summer, which we don't get to drink hot cocoa or wear warm clothes obviously.
