 Clary Fray is a sixteen year old girl living with her mother in New York. Clary and her best friend/sidekick Simon Lewis decided to go to the Pandemonium night club for her birthday. Clary is just enjoying herself until she stumbles into an attractive blond. She keeps partying until she sees that very attractive blonde guy looking all shady as he walks into a supply closet with a really attractive girls and a dark haired boy. She tells her friend about running into that guy and how she saw him again. Simon has no clue who she is talking about. Clary goes into the supply closet to see these teens kill a human being with glowing swords. She rushes back home to find that her mother is missing.


This series is so good. This first book is a little slow in the middle but turns its self around. If you liked the first book kinda read the second one it is way more action packed. If you don't like the second read the third. If you are not hooked by the third book, who are you? This book is filled with vampires, werewolf, Fairies, and attractive people. This book does have some mature content. Nothing bad just some language (Nothing worse than Of Mice and Men). This books does have flaws but it is such an amazing world to fall into. You will cry for these characters, laugh and find yourself wanting more. This book alone I rate it 4/5 stars. I rate the second a 4/5. It is about a 17 year old closeted gay junior in high school. Simon has been emailing back and forth with someone. He only knows him as blue. They keep their relationship anonymous. Simon one day does not sign out of his email and Martin reads them all. He then blackmails Simon to help Martin date simons best friend Abby. Whilst this is happineng blue and Simon are having some relationship problems. Simon can't hide anymore to his family that he is gay while blue also wants to come out. Simon also wants to meet blue face to face. All he knows is that blue goes to his school. Blue thinks that after they meet face to face their flame will die. Who is blue? What will Martin do?
