Cons:

Disenfranchisement and racism ( includes: Grandfather clauses, literacy checks, and poll taxes stopped African Americans from voting. The kkk, jim crow laws also spread hate and segregation.)

*five mins later* ok, so disenfranchisement was basically what grandfather clauses, poll taxes, etc achieved; it was stopping a specific group, in this case the African Americans, from voting
