A way to make class more engaging can be as simple as putting out polls that students can answer in the middle of class. Here is a good website to use for in class polls called Poll Everywhere.

A problem in this class was that there was not enough discussion and ideas being generated. Flip is something we use in EDIT 2000e and is a good way to learn a bit about people and I think can be a positive way to encourage discussion even if it is online.
