         <description><![CDATA[<div>One major historical event that took place on the Tagus River is that battle between the Carthaginians and the Carpathians was fought somewhere along the Tagus River in 220 B.C. Another historical event was that in 1147 a fleet of 164 ships carrying an army of 13,000 crusaders entered the Tagus port  which later lead to the conquest of the moors through the Tagus.</div>]]></description>
