Why is it concerning:
It can harm us. Unsafe water causes 1.2 million deaths each year on average.

Why is it concerning:
Not only does ocean pollution have drastic consequences on marine life and the environment, but it also takes its toll on human health. When exposed to ocean pollutants, fetuses (in utero) increase the chance of developing ADHD, autism, and other learning disorders. Adult exposure increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and dementia. It can also disrupt endocrine signalling, reduce male fertility, damage the nervous system, and increase the risk for cancer.

What I think can be the solution for it:
My solution is to reduce ocean pollution. I believe the most effective way to achieve this is for the people in power to get involved.

Why is it concerning: As a country surrounded by the riches of marine, fishing is a profession that many people are involved in, and a profession that is needed. If the plastic pollutes the ocean, people will lose their access to the marine life and these fishermen will struggle and may lose their job.

What I think can be the solution for it: The only logical yet challenging way would be not polluting the ocean with our waste. This idea has been promoted for a long time, yet not many people manage to conduct it. The solution should start from our awareness and education of the 3R in schools.

Why is it concerning:
Excess debris/waste in the ocean consumes oxygen as it degrades over time, resulting in less oxygen in the ocean. Ocean species such as penguins, dolphins, whales, and sharks can die as a result of low oxygen levels. If a big amount of oxygen depletion occurs in an area of the ocean, it can become an area where no marine life can survive.
