It is said that there was a Great Indian warrior, who had wonderful but strange powers; he could make himself invisible, using this power he could mingle unseen with his enemies and listen to their plots. He was known as the Strong Wind. Many maidens sought to marry him, it was known that the Strong Wind would marry the first Maiden who could see him. His sister would walk along the beach with any girl who wished to see him, the sister would always ask the girls a question to see if they are able and worthy to marry the Strong Wind. Most of the time the girls would just come up with a lie and therefore failed the trial.

The story starts off with a girl named Kongjwi an only child who's mother passed away away when she was 3-4 months old. So her dad married another women with a daughter of her own who disliked Kongjwi. After her father passing they treated her very poorly, making her do all the household chores and giving her ragged old clothes. Several time in the story when out doing chores Kongjwi would run into different animals (Ox, Turtle, Sparrow) all of them would help her with the work in different ways. There was even a Fairy who offered Kongjwi a beautiful silk hanbok and a floral silk gomusin. With this dress she attended the local village ball, where her beauty caught the attention of everyone including the mayor. Everything was great until Kongjwi noticed her stepmother and sister. When running out she dropped her left shoe in the Duwol stream, which was later found by the mayor. He searched the entire village to fund the rightful owner of the shoe, when the shoe finally fit Kongjwi, he then maried her. This may sound like the Cinderella story that everyone is familiar with but this one has a twisted not so happy ending. The stepsister Patjwi drowns and kills Kongjwi in the stream due to jealously. She then takes her place disguising herself as her sister. The mayor then has a dream telling him about the incident, where he then finds the body in the stream and brings her back to life with a kiss. After all of this the mayor puts Patjwi and the Mother in prison. Now the Mayor and Kongjwi can live happily ever after.

The Fairy gave Kongjwi a lovely silk hanbok and a floral silk gomusin. Hanboks is the traditonal attire of the Korean people (vistkorea, n.d) they are only worn on special occasions or anniversaries. In this case Konjwi wore the hanbok and gomusin for the local Ball.
