I noticed that the most common advice given was to create relationships with your students. I definitely agree with this. I believe students can't learn in an environment where they don't feel safe and have relationships.

The strategies I heard most often were how important routines are and how important formative assessments are. I believe routine is important for your class to function well. I also think formative assessments are important and need to be given in many different ways.

I connected with a lot of the mentors because they were from the Olathe school district, and that is where I grew up and where I possibly want to teach in the future. I also connected with the preschool teacher because I work in a daycare right now.

I was surprised by all the different pathways some of the teachers have. I thought this was very inspirational.

I would like to ask Dena Steen a question. She said to have conversations with parents and guardians over the phon,e even when it is tough. I would like some more advice on this.
