To find when the information was published I google searched ‘How to find when a website was published’ and followed the following steps: Copy and paste the url in to google. Paste ‘&as_qdr=y15’ at the end of the link and then read the date next to the search result for my desired page. The page was updated on the 26^th of June 2017 which is recent and up to date.

The website for Venue Cymru does not have a section stating when it was published or updated last but it is clear that it is updated regularly with the advertisements of different shows being displayed. However, in the Privacy section it state “Please note this is a working document and continues to be updated”. The information is is relevant to the task as on the home page it links you to venue hire. The links are functionable as well as a contact us section that could be used to communicate with the venue to see if they will help provide services for free or at a discounted rate for charity. 

The website is aimed at theatre and concert goers or for potential clients looking to hire the venue for concerts, shows or conferences. The site is very easy to navigate through with an adequate level of information that is not too elemental or advanced. I did look at other websites but this would seemed far easier to navigate and gave me the information immediately. I would cite this source in my research paper to achieve the task of finding a venue for the Talent Show 

The author of the website is the venue itself who have been funded by the National Lottery. They also have the backing of the Welsh Government and Arts Council of Wales. This is shown at the bottom of the screen near the location and contact us section (as seen below). They are qualified to write on this topic as they are advertising the shows that are appearing at their venue as well as giving information about the venue for potential clients. The contact us section is situated at the bottom of the page and easy to navigate to (as seen below). The URL shows that it is a company within the UK but nothing more. 

 The language used on the website is free from emotion and it is quite unbias. Instead of stating that the venue has everything you need, it states that it “hope you find everything you need here”. This shows that they aren’t saying they have the answer to everyone question but provide enough that should get you through your visit. It is free from spelling, grammar and typographical errors. 

The purpose of the website is to provide information of the venue, to sell tickets to shows and also persuade you to hire the venue. It does it extremely well with it’s minimalistic layout, pictures, large fonts and simple navigation. It does provide cultural biases as it is a theatre venue so will be doing their best to encourage you to book the venue or buy tickets for shows and concerts.
