Google for Education Certification

For the past two years I've been looking into getting Google Certified as a teacher. But being in the classroom as well as being enrolled in my master's program, I found I didn't have the time. As I'm in the final stages of the master's program, seeing light at the end of the tunnel, I can now get more serious about becoming certified. Being in a Google district, I would be a much better resource for teachers throughout the entire district, not just my building.

FlipGrid

As a fifth grade teacher, I find myself allowing my students to utilize ChromeBooks for Google Slides, Docs, Jeopardylabs and Kahoot! as review materials, as well as it being a resource for further investigation. However, I never find the opportunity to use FlipGrid in the classroom. As a student in the technology field, I've had to use FlipGrid many times. It's a great way to introduce yourself to the class as well as giving a voice to every student in the classroom.

In the past I've used communication platforms other than what the district provides us such as Class Dojo and Remind. This upcoming school year I want to try this new application I've found called ClassTag. It appears to communicate directly with Google for Education platforms and applications, which would be perfect being a Google District. I'm a little nervous about using it as the district has done a nice job scaring us teachers about using student work and photo's on a social networking platform. However, I believe I will be okay as it's only going to be shared with parents in my classroom.
