Lewis's brilliant book: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, is a fantastic read for children grades 5 and up. The book is as captivating as it is creative, and it is sure to keep students engaged in their independent reading as well as class discussion. The whimsical nature of this book would be perfect for posters, book reports, and dioramas. This book will also help students determine the meaning of unknown words by expanding their vocabularly. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Bantam Books. <br><br>Where the Red Fern Grows is an excellent book for children 5th grade to 7th grade. This book has so many great themes of friendship, loyalty, and sacrifice. This read would be a great way to model exemplary behavior for students, it is also a classic piece of American literature.</div>]]></description>

Courier Corporations.&nbsp;<br><br>The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling is an awesome story of adventure. It is a classic piece of literature and one of Kipling's most beloved stories.This book would be a great way to get students working together for creative projects. They could re-create scenes from the story and write book reports when they have completed the reading. This book would also be a great way to introduce students to reading tools such as a dictionary, so that they will understand how to look up a words that are unfamiliar to them.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Each of these texts requires a knowledge of language, phonics, and vocabulary. Each book presents with it a new challenge and opportunity to practice reading and understanding new words and sentences. This amazing and creative tale by Brain Jacques is the perfect transitional work for students who will be studying the great epics in their later academic careers. These books are the perfect introduction to the lyrical style and they contain beginner elements of epic literature.  This would be an ideal read for students over the summer who are going to be entering the 7th grade. </div>]]></description>
