The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling is an awesome story of adventure. It is a classic piece of literature and one of Kipling's most beloved stories.This book would be a great way to get students working together for creative projects. They could re-create scenes from the story and write book reports when they have completed the reading. Each of these texts requires a knowledge of language, phonics, and vocabulary. Each book presents with it a new challenge and opportunity to practice reading and understanding new words and sentences. The chapter structure of these books allow for students to take "rest" periods in which they may review what they had just read, explain the plot and structure of the story, as well as review any words which are unfamiliar.
