Today I will be telling you the path that food takes in your body.

The Mouth

The food first enters your mouth, were teeth chew down the food.The tongue then mixes the food with saliva, and pushes the food down the esophagus.

The Stomach

After the food goes down the esophagus, it ends up in your stomach. Your stomach then mixes the food with stomach acid. Your stomach does this by moving your upper muscle up and down.

The Small intestine

The small intestine mixes the food with digestive juices from the pancreas, liver, and intestine. It then moves the food to help with digestion. The sides of the small intestine snatch the nutrients. The name for it is "Villi"

Large intestine

The large intestine takes all the waste that your body can't use. Dead cells also enter the large intestine. The large intestine absorbs any left over water, or left over nutrients. Then it enters the "anus", and when you bend your butt around, as if sitting on a chair, it will let the waste out.
