         <description><![CDATA[<div>Although considered a pioneer within feminism and women's rights, it is important to note that Mary Seacole clearly suffered from internalised misogyny and had very strict set ideals about how women should be. Seacole rejected the idea of women wearing trousers and taking on certain roles of men. It is clear that, despite being a strong female figure, she still struggled with the expectations of femininity from both men and other women, and projected that back out onto other women. She was also very apologetic and careful about how she was presented as a feminine woman, and didn't want to step out of the boundaries she had learned.<br><br></div>]]></description>
