         <description><![CDATA[<div>Age Group: 3-4 years old<br>Number of Children: 15&nbsp;<br>Duration: 45 - 60 minutes&nbsp;<br><br>Procedures:<br>1) Split the children into 3 groups of 5.&nbsp;<br><br>2) Gather the first group of children at the table covered in plastic sheet. This is to ensure any fall out of the sand will be easy to clean afterwards.&nbsp;<br><br>2) Each child in the group will take turns to pick up a picture card with a letter, a picture of an item relating to the letter and how to spell the item.<br>Example: Letter - C , Picture - Crown , Spelling - "C R O W N"<br><br>3) When the child picks a card, the teacher should prompt him/her by asking a question such as "What letter do you think this is?"<br><br>4) Place the card above the tray and allow the child to practice how to write the letter.&nbsp;<br><br>5) Allow the child to name an item they can think of that starts with the letter.&nbsp;<br>Example: Ask questions such as "Can you name me another item that starts with the letter 'I'?"<br><br>6) The child can then make their guess and the teacher will have to correct them if it is incorrect.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>7) The teacher will proceed to flip the letter card to the other side and allow the child to practice writing how to spell the word.&nbsp;<br><br>8) Repeat the procedures for the other members of the group too. Each group should have one set of bowls filled with alphabet letters, one set of plastic spoons and a marker for each child.&nbsp;<br><br>3) Using the markers, the children should write their names on the plastic spoons. One letter for one spoon.&nbsp;<br><br>4) Then, ask the children to find the letters in the bowl and scoop up the letter matching it with the letter on the spoon. Write the 26 letters in alphabetical order in the circles.<br><br>2) Gather the children to the front of the classroom.<br><br>3) Sing the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQUraQ95qXw">'A B C' song</a> together with the children, pausing the video during the second time when all letters are displayed and inquire children on the letters.<br><br>4) Ask the children to sit in a big circle with the mahjong paper in the center of the circle.<br><br>5) Let each child have a turn to take the paper cup and match it to the letter on the mahjong paper. Ask them personal questions about what themselves such as <strong>"what do you do during your free time?"</strong> and <strong>"what do you want to be when you grow up?"</strong>&nbsp;<br><br>3. Show them 3 envelopes labelled "occupations", "sports" and "animals". Ask them to choose a category for the first round. Tell them to vote for the category that they want for the first round. The category majority of them voted for will be selected.<br><br>4. Play some positive music that are suitable for children, such as Happy by Pharell William while passing around a small ball as the baton. When the song stops, choose the child that are holding onto the baton to act out the items in the chosen envelope.<br><br>5. While the child acts out, other children has to raise their hands and take turns in guessing the actions carried out. He has to guess aloud and spell his guess. For example, under the sports category, he has to guess "badminton, b-a-d-m-i-n-t-o-n".<br><br>6. Play three rounds of this game, changing categories for every round. A child who spells wrongly has to choose a friend to help him/her. First put a table in front of the classroom, go to the cupboard beside the table, take out the golden silk flowery cloth in a ziplock bag, a blue rectangular vase, a pink fuzzy teddy bear and a green circular ball and place it on the table in front of the classroom<br>2. Gather children in the middle of the classroom <br>3. Ask children to look at the objects and feel the objects then describe to you, each objects using adjectives like what type of color and shape or texture each object is or has <br>4. When children have answered, guide them by teaching them other adjectives to describe the objects and explain to why the adjectives you taught them, help describe the objects seen on the table.<br>(*try sticking to color, texture and shape adjectives)<br>5. Then divide the class of 20 into 4 small groups of five and hand each group of five, a blank A3 paper, 2 pairs of scissors, 2 stick glues, one A4 paper with these adjectives on it, "smooth", "rectangular", " blue", "pink", "green", "golden", "circular", "flowery", "fuzzy" and "soft" and also with the names of the objects like vase, teddy bear, ball and cloth which are also known as nouns.<br>6. Then instruct the groups on what to do with the materials given for this main&nbsp; activity with these following instructions, "1) With the adjectives and nouns seen on the A4 paper , cut and paste the words to form a sentence and each sentence should describe one object seen on the table in front of the class. There should be 4 sentences as there are four objects on the table.<br>2) You will be given 4 minutes to discuss as a group and plan which words describes which object<br>3) After the 4 minutes are up, start cutting, pasting and forming the 4 descriptive sentences of the 4 objects seen on the front of the table"<br>7) Start the timer for 4 minutes and ask the groups to start planning and discussing<br>8) When 4 minutes are up, tell them to start start cutting, pasting and forming the 4 descriptive sentences of the 4 objects seen on the front of the table<br>9) When the groups have finished with their "posters", invite the one of the members to the front of the class, ask them to bring their group poster along with them and us the magnet on the whiteboard to paste it on the whiteboard at the front of the classroom.<br>10) Then examine each poster and spot any mistakes such as misuse of adjectives in descriptive sentences (*use a marker to circle the mistakes if seen on any poster)<br>11) Teach and guide the groups again, if there are any mistakes and remind them on what you have explain to them about why and how certain adjectives describes the objects.<br>- Constance Lien<br><strong><br></strong><br><br></div>]]></description>

However, ensure that no two children have the same alphabets.<br>2. Once done, they will place their cards in front of the class in a circle formation.<br>3. Teacher will play an upbeat tempo music (own choice) while the children walk around the circle.<br>4. Once the music stops, children will stop walking and face the index card in front of them.<br>5. They will pick one index card up and say the alphabet given.<br>6. They will then form a short simple sentence with the alphabet given. For example, "C". First, ask them questions on the different alphabets like " which is the 5th letter in the alphabets?" and also sing ABC song together as a class.<br><br>2. Next, make sure the bottles are clean and dry. Next, fill the bottles half way up with salt and add about 15 letter tiles in each bottle. Then, finish filling up each bottle. Finally, hot glue the top on so the kids cannot open the bottles. ( the teachers will do this for them as it can be dangerous)<br><br>3. To introduce the bottles, shake one of them up and then roll it on it’s side. As you roll the bottle, you will find many letters. Have the kids choose 4 letters and write it on a paper.<br><br>4. The activity can vary according to each child’s skill. To make this game more advanced,  have the kids draw a picture of something that begins with the letters they chose.<br><br>5. To really challenge the kids, ask them to try to sound out a word and write it on the paper.<br><br>6. Lastly close it up by asking the children on what they have learnt. For example, " How many alphabets are there in total?" and also ask them to come up in front of the class to verbalize the few words they learnt during class.<br><br>-S. You can draw them by hand or print them from the computer. You need at least one grid per player but if you make more you’ll be able to swap cards and play the game several times.&nbsp;<br>2. Add a letter into each square.<br><br>3. Make a set of square cards with a letter on each, corresponding to the letters on your grids.<br><br>4. Give every player a grid and then turn the square cards face down.<br><br>5.Take it in turns to pick a square card. When you turn over a square, see if you can make the right sound for the letter.<br><br>6. If the letter you picked is on your grid you can keep it to cover up the letter on your grid. If you don’t have the letter on your grid, place it back face-down.<br><br>7.          <title>Rhyme Game in a bag</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Age Group: 4-5 years old<br>No of children: 16<br><br>Procedures:<br><br>1.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The teacher will provide a demonstration for the children on how to play the activity.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>2.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; This activity requires children to be paired up. Each pair will receive a small bag filled with 10 different animal figures, 2 pieces of paper, a one minute sand timer and 2 erasers.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>3.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; One of the children will be the timer and the other children will playing the activity.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>4.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The child who is playing the activity will randomly pick up a card in the small bag.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>5.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The teacher can go around the classroom to provide help to children who are unable to come up with the rhyming words and facilitate the activity as well.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>6.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Through the name of the animal on the picture card, the child will write down as many words that rhyme with the name of the animal on the picture, on the paper provided.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>7.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Children can refer to the word wall for writing the words that they are unable to spell it out.<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>8.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The child who is the timer will use the minute glass to time the child who is writing down the words, for one minute. One the time is up, the child will have to stop writing.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>9.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The child who is timing will also have to record the number of words that the child who is playing the activity has written.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>10.&nbsp; Both children will swap their roles after that.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>11.&nbsp; The child with more words can proceed to find another child to play with, while the child who have lesser words will have to stay on the same table, until he manage to get more words than the child that he or she is currently playing with.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>12. &nbsp; After the activity, children will be invited share their experience with their peers on how they feel about the activity, and describe the difficulties and challenges that they face during the activity.<br><br>-Mervin Ko<br><br></div><div><strong>&nbsp;<br></strong><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Animals Everywhere</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Age Group: 4-5 years old<br>No of children: 15<br>Procedures:<br>1) The children will start by firstly singing the "Old MacDonald" song. Then, they will be asked to wear different animal costumes.<br><br>2) They will then have to identify and name the different animals that are in the class.&nbsp;<br><br>3)They will then walk around the class and play the game "scissors, paper and stone" in pairs.&nbsp;<br><br>4) The one that lost will have to make the sound of the animal that the person he/she played with.&nbsp;<br><br>5) Then, they will be given pieces of paper to write and spell out all the animals they have seen.          <title>Goldilocks and The Three Bears</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Age group: 4-5 years old<br>No. of children: 15<br>Procedures:<br>1) Shared book demonstration of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears"<br>2) while reading the book, prompt questions such as&nbsp; "Did she eat porridge that was beside the bowl?" and "Where was the porridge that she ate?"<br>3)Ask the same questions for when Goldilocks sits in the chairs and slept on the beds<br>4) Pass out a teddy bear to each student.<br>5) Have students hug their bear while explaining that they will be playing a game where the teacher will tell them where to put the teddy bear.<br>6) Model first, and then tell students to place their bear on their head, on their shoulder, under their arm, beside their face, behind their back, and in their hand.<br>7)End the activity by placing a bear somewhere in the classroom (on the chair or under the table) and have students say where the bear is.<br><br>Claire Oh Qing Yee</div>]]></description>

         <title>Learning Alphabets</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Age group: 4 to 5 years old.<br><br>No. of children: 15<br><br>Procedures:<br><br>1. Gather the children to the front of the classroom. Have them seated.&nbsp;<br><br>2. Have a board filled the the different letters in front of the classroom.<br><br>3. Start the class by singing the alphabet song to get the children to be familiarize with all the alphabet. Repeat this song once more to make sure that the children are singing along.<br><br>4. Go through the alphabets one by one with the children. For example, " A for apple, B is for boy and C for car". Children are encouraged to repeat after the teacher.<br><br>5. Every child will be given a chance to go up to the front of the classroom to pick a picture card out from a box. On every piece of the card, there will be a different picture on it.&nbsp;<br>For example, Child A picked a picture card that shows a Car, Child A would have to match the Picture card (car) to the letter C on the white board.<br><br>6. By the end of the class, children should be able to learn the different alphabets and spell certain items or things they see.<br><br>7. Children are encouraged to pack up with the teacher. Teacher will prepare a beanbag filled with the alphabets<br><br>2.&nbsp; Gather to students to sit in a circle and start off by taking a letter out of the bag and naming something that begins with that letter.<br><br>3.After a letter has been pulled out and an object has been named, place the letter back into the bag and pass it on to the person on the left.<br><br>4.
