Things that matter to my personal life in order of importance:
1. Personal Life - This is most important to me because my relationships with my friends and family make me feel human. '
2. Mental - The second most important thing to me is my mental state of mind because it dictates how I express my emotions and communicate to my friends and family.
3. Physical - Next up is my physical state because it helps influence my mental state. Being healthy puts me in a better mood and allows me to feel free to be myself.
4. Professional Life - This is second to last because while it is important to me, it's less involved in my personal life than the ones above. I have friends at work but it mostly stays at work, so some of my personal life is there but it makes up a small portion of my personal life as a whole.
5. Material/Financial - This is last because it is secondary to my personal life. Regardless how much money and material I have in my possession I would still want my same friends and family, and I'd prefer for those to be separate things entirely.

Self Assessments

Over the course of the quarter I took many different assessments to help me get to know myself better. Theses are my results for each assessment and a little about what that result means:
1. Learning Style - Auditory/Visual Learner (I have an easier time understanding spoken instructions than written, I often close my eyes to remember or visualize something, I am attracted to color and spoken language that is rich in imagery.)
2. Meyers-Briggs - ENFJ (I am a natural-born leader, full of passion and charisma. I radiate authenticity, concern and altruism, unafraid to stand up and speak when I feel something needs to be said. And my altruism and authenticity inspire those I care about to become better.)
3. Life Line - A seed that was planted in my past that inspired me was working as an intern at Skymuse Studios. Specifically it taught me how to write up my own invoices for independent contract work. I'm hoping this helps me be more prepared when I continue to do contract work in the future.
4. Color Code - Blue (Three terms that describe my color type are; loyal, sincere, and thoughtful.)
5. Brain Dominance - Right Brain Dominant (Three employment types that would be suitable for this are; arts/design, behavioral science research, and customer service.)
6. Communication Style - Assertive (Assertive people look out for themselves, but also show caring and interest in others. People who choose this style are usually excellent communicators, honest about their feelings, respected, and well liked. Of all the communication styles, this one requires the most work and the best communication skills.)
7. Team Player Style - Communicator (I have an inclination to interact with others, I enjoy and seek an interchange of ideas, and I am more focused on the process than the product.)
8. Leadership Style - Democratic (I implore input from one or more group members when making decisions and solving problems, but the leader retains the final say when choices are made. I accept input from group members with specialized knowledge and expertise because it creates a more complete basis for decision-making. This style of leadership often leads to more effective and accurate decisions, since no leader can be an expert in all areas.)
9. Social Style - Amiable (I like the company of others, yet am more of a listener than a talker. I am loyal, personable, and patient when dealing with others. And I am unlikely to take risks as I have a strong need for security.
10. Stress Type - Type B (I am creative and enjoy exploring ideas and concepts. When faced with competition, I do not mind losing and either enjoy the game or back down. I am often reflective, thinking about the outer and inner worlds.)
11. Stress Level - 55 (I'm hoping I can maintain a fairly low number after I finish this degree here at Shoreline. I have some plans of what to do and some that I'm doing now but we will see how things work out. I'm confident I'll be able to manage without becoming too stressed out and I never want to go above a 64. I expect maybe I'll hit a 60-63 if I have a hard time finding a good job for what I want but I don't expect to go off the charts at all.)

I'm currently pursuing a career in audio and sound engineering. This means working in studios or an office on audio aspect of various multimedia projects like music, videos, and even video games. After looking at the Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates page from 2018 I found that Sound Engineers can make up to $85,000 in a year. However, money isn't everything. A career in this would mean I'd be working closely with lots of different art form and making them sound as good as possible! I love project based work and especially regarding audio I get a lot of enjoyment and fulfillment out making something that sounds mediocre, to sounding great. I would like to eventually work for a somewhat large organization or company like Nintendo or Ubisoft. I would really not mind working in Seattle but I would also feel like I would very much enjoy working in LA or NY. As far as people I like to work with are concerned, I get along really well with people who are hard workers who are also project focused. I'm project focused myself so working with people who can take direction well and see the big picture would be the best for my preferred working conditions.

If all conditions were ideal and anything was possible I would be a manager of the sound department in a company like nintendo and we would have just created a wonderfully beautiful game that touches the hearts of many people through the soundtrack and sound design as well as the gameplay itself. I would want to have a heavy hand in composing that soundtrack as well.

Today through the next six months: I'm planning on starting to volunteer more at KEXP and the Vera Project to get to know the industry and some of the local player a little more. Will also be a fun experience that doubles to help me potentially get a job at one of those organizations. I also want to start pursuing my bachelors degree since I will have completed my AA.
Next 12 months: The year following that I will hope that I could be a lot closer if not completed with my bachelors degree in Software Engineering. Also I would hope that I could land just a part time job or internship at KEXP to start getting my hands on with professional equipment in a professional position
3-5 years following: The next few years after that I will have finished my bachelors degree and maybe have been working at KEXP for a time and will have enough education and experience to get a higher job elsewhere such as an entry level engineer for Nintendo or Ubisoft.
