By writing my own poem, I learned that it helped me understand the type of person I am. On my poem, "loving you forever," I learned that my poem was connected to the analysis I did on "I do not love you except because i love you." I felt connected to it because it made me realize that I'm a person that likes/enjoys writing about love, and that is easier to understand movies or books if they're romantic.

I feel like poetry can make life easier when it comes to expressing our feelings because there's not explanation to it, you just say what you have to say. My poem "Ocean," is very similar to the analysis I did on "Why do I love your sir" because they don't say a lot of things. My poem has only 3 lines so it's very short and even thought the other one is 4 stanzas long, they're both very precise and understandable.

In the analysis I did on "Why do I love you sir," I learned that poetry can be used as a way to expresses one's emotion by writing down our feelings or emotions. In this poem, the poet was expressing the way she thinks love is but at first she started it question. Then she found a way to express the way she felt about the man she wrote about.

I learned that poetry express the ideas/belief of a community in different many ways. In the analysis I did on the poem "Drum Dream Girl," the poet used the girl's dream to show that if you don't give up on your dreams, you can make them come true. For example, in the poem the community didn't approve girls playing the drum, but the girl did it anyways and they saw that girls could play the drum too.

Poetry can also be used to express how a person sees her/his surroundings. In my poem, "I'm your escape," I decided to describe a picture. If someone else describes the same picture, of course you will notice that person describing it in a different way. I have a different perspective of what I see, and the other person has its own. Poetry gives us the chance to express our ideas or beliefs in a different way.

Poetry can help a person better understand him/herself by putting together what someone wants to say in different stanzas. For example, in the poem "I Do Not Love You Except Because I Love You" by Pablo Neruda," the poet expresses his thoughts and feelings. I learned that you don't have just write a paragraph or sing a song to tell someone or yourself how you feel. There are several time in where someone people don't understand themselves which makes it harder for them, but poetry is a really good way to get to understand yourself a little bit better.
