Everything has taken longer than I initially thought it would, and as a class we're still very much in the beginning stages. Its hard to assess understanding of the tech aspect, it takes several days.  Or more.

I agree. There are many resources available online.  I am working on incorporation interactive assessments, surveys,  and other resources that Google Classroom offers.

Skills we've been able to show case are skills of organization, communication, compassion, critical and creative  thinking. During our distance learning our school community has been able to enhance these skills along with the continuation of practicing the Native values that we normally practice that help us root ourselves as a strong community.

It is difficult to show students what to do using distance learning what normally takes a minute or two can take up to 10 minutes.

Students need good wifi otherwise they can't hear or the glitch out.

Difficulty reaching some students who haven't participated so far.

What I have noticed from the students is that they are need more practice with things like working with google docs, and using other technology. I have shared my screen and shown the students how to do things like highlighting and so on.

I agree. This situation has challenged me to improve my technology skills in order to communicate information to students. Specifically, I have been using google sheets. I have been using google sheets in order to be more interactive. I had rely more on visuals. I am including images, gifs, and graphs to be more interactive.

With this new  google classroom being forced upon us, we've have been able to communicate with parents more efficiently and parents have been able to be more involved in their child educational goals which is something to continue to build on after this is over.

-Some students still struggle with attending class, some don't understand the importance of their participation. I've called some students at 10am or 11 am and still find that they are sleeping.
