'When the crimson rose has faded
And our day at last is done;
In the forest dark and shaded
Blows the tempest, dims the sun.
When the night holds us together
Shall forgiveness mend the past
Will despair bring sunny weather
And heal our hearts at last?'

'If we hide within the shadows
Will you stay here close to me;
Will we walk forgotten meadows
Or sail a foreign sea?
In vain the hour must reap
What we gathered in the sun;
And love's harvest now will weep
For the battle never won.'

Above is an extract written by Elizabeth Wesley, who descriptively painted a picture in the minds of those who have and will read it. This extract describes the feeling of loving and losing. As a human, everyone is able to relate to this feeling somewhere between birth and death. Therefore creating a sense of understanding throughout the audience. Although this is just one example of Elizabeths' brilliant heartfelt writing, I would strongly recommend visiting her page and exploring the others.

“You can tell yourself that you would be willing to lose everything you have in order to get something you want. But it’s a catch-22: all of those things you’re willing to lose are what make you recognizable. Lose them, and you’ve lost yourself.” – Jodi Picoult, Handle With Care

Yet another extract of a book which has so much character. This book can be read by anyone as you can easily relate to the writing. This certain quote is very captivating and has so many underlying tones that I would believe could only be related to by those who understand and have been in a similar situation.

The Wild Swans at Coole
by William Butler Yeats

'The trees are in their autumn beauty,
The woodland paths are dry,
Under the October twilight the water
Mirrors a still sky;
Upon the brimming water among the stones
Are nine and fifty swans.

Here is a beautiful extract from William Yeats, who is describing a beautiful night sky amongst the heavenly days of Autumn. The poem is written by a famous Irish poet, who descriptively describes what he believes his non-existent woman will look like in the near future. He has written many poems about unrequited love, but by far has this one caught the attention of readers and writers around the world.

"They don't know about real loss, because that only occurs when you love something more than you love yourself." - Robin Williams

This is a brilliant quote by Robin Williams. He starred in the movie 'Good Will Hunting' which was very popular movie. This quote has many underlying tones that you can somewhat pick up on. Its got an in depth meaning that captures the eye of the reader and in a way, tries to help them understand. This quote may make sense to most, but can only be understood by some

The Aboriginal Experience, By Elena Muino

The sun would shine brightly.
The trees would sway gently, the birds chirping joyfully.
We were as free as the wind.
Yet they were the destructive ocean, forcing rules and beliefs on us.
We are drowning.
Mercilessly bowing down to worship cruel, ghostly humans.
Or should I say pretencious beasts?

This is a piece of my own writing that I created in 2016. This was written to represent the Aboriginal experience, when their freedom was taken away by the Brittish. It showcases the love the Indigenous people had for their land and how they praised the ocean, animals, wind and their enviroment. Then it goes on to explain that the "Ghostly Humans" , also known as the brittish, took away their freedom and pushed religion, rules and beliefs on them. They are reffered to as ghostly humans becuase they are white, and have no mercy. Also the fact that the Aboriginals were not accustomed to any other pigment of skin. So in a way, it was strange and dreamsih like because they didn't seem real. Although I am not Aboriginal, I do believe this describes the Indigenous Australians' feelings that were being felt at that point in time.
