This book is saying that it's ok to be different, or unique. Although Ally didn't get along with teachers, Mr. Daniels was there to help. Mr Daniels accepted who Ally was and boosted up her confidence. The Author taught that it's ok to stand out and that no matter what we're here for a reason, and don't let anybody change that. At the end, Allly tried her best and conquered the challenges she always faced, especially people not accepting who she is.

This book I am reading over because of how down to Earth and real it is. It shows how Lise is sick and tired of moving, never seeing her mom cause of work, and having to live without a dad. Free and Lise watched half of their life tear apart when their mom got into a car accident causing them to move, again. This time it was a place that Lise thought of as the scariest place with deep lurking sea creatures and water, Maine. She hated it and all she wanted to do, was go home. But, she knew that was her moms happy place. That caused her to move on and get used to it. By the end, she made a friend and knew their life was going back on track.

The book, "Side Tracked" by Diana Harmon, Joseph has a hard time with sports and doesn't like them very much. His resource teacher and classmates encouraged him to try something new, and try out for the track team.
He told himself he's not good and he wanted to quit. Heather gave him advice to not quit on his team, and keep going. She wants him to learn to believe in himself and not give up. If he tries harder, it may lead to bigger things and greater opportunities, like becoming a good runner for his high school, believing in himself, and looking up to becoming an olympic runner. All thanks to Heather, and her advice.

In the book, "Booked" by Kwame Alexander, Nick was always a happy kid who loved to play soccer and spend time with family and friends. Soon, he noticed things were starting to fall apart. At school, nick got bullied by many kids who humiliated him infront of the whole school, by making a good burn on him. He was so embarressed, he started hiding in the library, where he found the girl that he had a crush on, Ally. As soon as everything was starting to get better and happier, he noticed his parents acting strange. He decided to check in on them, and before he knew it, his mom was moving to Kentucky and they were getting divorced. He was devestated and he put into perspective how dreadful it is to expeirience, or think of. He started not acting himself, and not going to any sporting events or hanging out with friends. Him not participating in things shows how a couple of rough things happening in your life, is going to affect how, or who who dedicate your life.

In the book, "Crossover" by Kwame Alexander, Josh Bell was an enthusiastic, happy, excited kid who loved playing basketball. He would practice with his dad everyday, and he loved it. One day, he came home from basketball and had to rush to the hospital. His dad, his basketball buddy was laying in the hospital bed and was sleeping. His life turned upside down when he found out his dad had to get surgery done and that he can't play basketball. Josh was heartbroken. Readers would dislike Josh because he was a positive kid at the beginning, and switched to be a sad kid and not in love with basketball anymore. The point of view is 1st person. An example of this is, "I walk into the lunchroom with JB" (Alexander, 53) One of my favorite lines of the book is when Josh says, "Josh Bell is my name, but Filthy MCnasty is my claim to fame." I rate this book a 10 because it was a rollercoaster of emotions and also shows a moving story full of surprises.

Wishtree by Katherine Applegate (December 2020)

In this book, "Wishtree" by Katherine Applegate, it's the perspective of a tree named Red. He lives outside of the Elementary School and is called the Wishtree because in May, everyone gathers around and places something on him to represent their goal or wish. The wishtree gives a lot of advice. "People tell wish trees all kind of things because they know we'll listen." (Applegate, 22) He helps the neighborhood deal with their problems. One thing I noticed is it shows us that racism tears communities apart. Samar is the only Muslim in the neighborhood and she walks home from school with bullies on her back. Samar's house is right next to the tree meaning Red always looks over and tries to be there for her. Obviously he can't, because he's a tree but the point of the story is for people who are having a hard time can go talk to the Wishtree and give him a wish. Samar came to Red and give him one wish. It was to have a friend. The least Red could do was get Samar a friend. So that's what he did, her wish came true. In conclusion, Red is always trying to be there for people and make wishes come true.

"Fish In A Tree" By Lynda Mullaly Hunt (March 2021)

In the book, "Fish In A Tree" by Lynda Hunt, Ally is struggling with school and feels different than the others. A memory moment Ally has is when her dad, her brother, and Ally went shopping for coins all of the time. She looks back to how happy and easy it was back then. Ally faces being made fun of and notices she tends to daydream in class about the good times she had with her dad when finding and collecting chinese coins. This memory is important because it shows the insight on how Ally's life back then was more simple and she didn't have to worry about not knowing how to read or getting bullied. I recommend "Fish In A Tree" By lynda Hunt because it puts the reader into a perspective of what Ally feels on a regular basis, and makes the readers connect with the change of emotions. In conclusion, "Fish in a Tree" is a great book to read and is followed by a rollercoaster of different events.

Protagonists perspective- Doug Swieteck
I am just a boy in high school trying to live my life. I recently moved to Marysville, Ohio and I absolutely hate it. I always get forced into doing things and I always feel locked up, or controlled by Dad. Although things are tough at home with my alcoholic and abusive dad, I decided to start working around this new stupid town. Maybe I do it to get my mind off of things, as everyday I come home in complete fear, nervous to go into my own house. What I learned about myself is that the future holds so much more and that working and doing things away from my father prevents all the anxiety and fear that is held inside of me.

Protagonists perspective- Cracker, the dog
It all started off with me, at my happy, thought to be forever, home with Willie, my best pal. But one day just felt....different. I didn't feel myself, there were random, scary men surrounding me, ready to put me in a van. And that is where it all started. I was devastated asking myself if I would ever see Willie again, I didn't even know where these people were taking me. I arrived at the Army, already starting to train for war. But why? I was uncomfortable and anxious, until I found Rick, my new soldier. He followed me everywhere, like I was being watched. Until we actually entered war. I was alone, I lost Rick. I was roaming around the grassy, open land as Rick was laying in the hospital to recover. I have lost Rick! I didn't know where to go or what to do without Rick assisting me. I was scared, even terrified, of what was going to happen next. It wasn't long until I somehow was brought to Rick. I was happy and a lot of weight came off my shoulders. I was brought back to Willie and was now able to see Rick and Willie, the best people in my life!
