         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Classical Age started in 500 BCE and ended in 338 BCE.<br><br>Many more city states existed, with Athens and Sparta being dominant.<br><br>Athens was the center of art, knowledge, and philosophy while Sparta was very militaristic.<br><br>During this time, many new ideas came to Athens.&nbsp;<br><br>Homer made many poems, such as the Iliad and the Odyssey.<br><br>Socrates brought philosophy,<br><br>Archimedes proposed many theories, such as buoyancy.&nbsp;<br><br>Sparta was the prime military power. Boys learned militia arts at the age of seven.<br><br>Women had much more rights in Sparta than Athens.<br><br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Macedonia was north of Greece.<br><br>Philip II, king of Macedonia, decided to unite the Greeks from their civil war.<br><br>He accomplished his goal by destroying the feeble Greek army, and he wanted to cooperate with them to defeat Persia.<br><br>Before that could happen, he died, and his son, Alexander the Great, took over.<br><br>He took over many countries, but died at a young age.<br><br>Following his death, four Hellenistic kingdoms took over: Macedonia, Syria, Pergamum, and Egypt.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
