3. What emotions or character traits would I use do explain Luke in the problem or conflict? I would definitely always be using scared but also hope because going over to someone else’s house and realizing he is not the only shadow child give him confidence. And I also thinks he deals with positive emotions in this.

1. What are the conflicts in the story and what type of conflict is it? Cite evidence from the story to support the conflict.

The main conflict in Among The Hidden is Man vs Society. Luke battles with the government and population police. If someone found him,  they might kill him to keep the population under control. Also a side conflict is Man vs Self. Luke battles with himself all the time trying to figure  out what’s right and wrong and f he should do it. He should not have to do that and should be able to live freely. Not having to battle everything he dose might get him caught. 

2.What emotions or character traits would you use to describe the character when they deal with the problem or conflict? Why?

When Luke is told to hide somewhere or stay away from somewhere from then on, he is cooperative and scared. He cooperates because he thinks he’s knows the ricks and he if he dose anything bad the population police. His parents think every little thing he dose gets him in more troble and won’t let him do anything. Luke is so scared into what might happen he dose things without question, woven though he knows he can be carful.

3.Where does the character specifically encounter the conflict?

Luke encounters conflict everywhere. Luke is not to do anything by windows and to not go outside. He is to no go in places of the house. Everywhere Luke goses risks him being seen. His parnets seem to scare him into thinking everywhere is dangerous and he can not leave the house. He is a third child. Families are only allowed to have 2. Thats the law. If someone sees him he might get turned in and because its so strict, the population police might kill him.

When Lukes mother or father tells him to hide he is obedient but and nervous.
obedient: He is obedient because he never argues when they tell him to hide and he never goes and looks out windows or opens the curtains to peek. He just does what he is told to do.
Nervous: He is nervous because he is scared he got caught so he wonders if it is the population police, if he got caught, what if the government found him or if someone found him.


Where does the character specifically encounter the conflict?
Luke encounters the conflict everywhere. Luke stays in his room and he does not go near windows. Everywhere Luke goes in his house he is risking being seen by anyone. His parents scare him by telling him that everywhere he goes someone will see him and that his their way of protecting Luke by keeping him away from shades and in his room.

He family used to own the woods, and the woods had trees blocking the view from anyone, so Luke could go outside and play with his older brothers when they got home from school. Then the Government bought the woods and Luke stayed inside. His heart pounded as he ran, he was in plain sight. He had never been in plain sight before. He ran and ran and ran to the sports family’s house and tugged on the screen door. Locked. Luke hadn’t even thought about the screen door being locked. He found a small hole    In the door and stuck his hand through and unlocked it. He ran inside. He looked around and saw no one, he decided to check upstairs beofre he left. Luke saw a small blue glow from a room and the sound of someone typing Luke walked in carefully and looked through the door. He couldn’t see anything and walked in. There was a girl around his age on a computer in the Sports Family’s house. Luke was in shock a few seconds later the girl turned around and tackled him. She thought he was trying to break in. She wouldn’t let go until Luke said 2 words, “Population Police.” The girl let go. This is how Luke and Jen meet. They are both shadow children and Jen has had parents who have lots of money. They are also very clever and find ways to take Jen with them to places in plain sight. Luke’s parents meanwhile worried about everything and believed the Government could find Luke if he did anything bad. So Luke never did anything or got much.
